NATIONAL DRAFT

Nathan Gordon: Has been the substitute for the past two games, which brings his Richmond games tally to seven after being recruited from the SANFL. More opportunities will give him the chance to become the regular contributor the coaches believe he can be.   

Ben Lennon: Is close to a recall after five senior games following a delayed start to the season post knee surgery. Has spent time in defence and attack and was emergency for the Greater Western Sydney game.

Sam Lloyd: The past three senior appearances have brought him to eight games for the season, where he's kicked three bags of three goals and has set himself the aim to improve his forward pressure.

ROOKIE DRAFT

Todd Banfield: Hasn't made enough of an impact to be considered for promotion across his 15 games in the VFL, where he's been used at both ends of the ground.

Anthony Miles: Demanded elevation with strong VFL form and hasn't looked back since his round 12 Richmond debut with an average of nearly 24 touches and over six clearances a game.

Matt Thomas: His hardness made him a pre-season elevation but injuries and suspension have kept him to 12 games after a promising start at his second club.

Miles is the standout for mine here followed distantly by Lennon. Lloyd has had a couple of good games but I don't think he is up to it. Gordan should take up athletics. Banfield is a waste of space but other than him all our rookies are where we can find our best recruits.

Lloyd seems a typical Tiger tease or "glass half full" as ol' claw calls 'em -  kicks his two or three goals and looks every inch a footballer every few games then looks out of his league the rest of the time. Inconsistency you'd expect from a 20 year-old not a 24 year-old. Depth player at best.

Gordon's a poor man's White and the original wasn't that great to start with.

Lennon will be good enough, if not a star. Too early to tell - pace is a problem, courage a slight concern and not sure he'll ever gain abilty to run through the middle. Like many on the list though - would help if he was played more in his best position.

Banfield's a strange one.... could seriously play three years ago and still shows glimpses, albeit very brief,  but something's gone drastically wrong somewhere to the point that he's absolutely shot as a senior level footballer now and probably won't ever recover. Too bad - at his best he had assetts we desperately need. Mind you I'd still give him another year ONLY IF we don't address our pace issues otherwise, same goes for Gordon.

Its a sad state of affairs, if Mile wasnt such a player you would neck yourself if you were in charge of recruiting at the RFC

I'm hoping to dear god that with a solid preseason in 2015 Lloyd could be good. His reaction time is just a bit iffy at times but with ball in hand his goal sense is just fantastic. Because other than Lloyd who else do we have as a small forward to support JR?
