Dimma talking about Short:

* Jayden Short's debut was pretty good. Started on the ground. Pendlebury started to get a bit of it so we moved Short onto him. He did a fantastic job and kicked 3 goals on a good player.

* He's an opportunist and will learn from that game. Offensively, he kicked some goals; defensively, there was room for improvement and we went through that in his individual review and the team review. But, overall, we were pleased with his effort. He's got a big job to continue that.

* We liken him to a Luke Breust. A smart, skillful player who doesn't need a lot of possessions to hurt the opposition. He's been a real find for us and we hope he continues to play at that level going forward.

How good is it when young Short gets the ball and you know he will hit up a team mate. Not getting a heap at this stage but he gets into the right positions and has a great footy brain like Jack possesses.

Going well enough for a 4 gamer.
Possessions will come with more games at AFL level.
I like his hardness at the contest.

For a little guy he has guts. Hits his target with laser guidance too. Impressive and is an example what you may hatch if you play kids and not just list cloggers. :whistle

I just hope he doesn't have Stevie Morris shoulder. Should feel sympathy for the fellas if they are hurting their shoulders that easily but it poo's me seeing them go limp armed at too much contact. Although I haven't seen Morris do it for a while.

That's because Morris hasn't been near the ball lately  :whistle

Give the ball to this kid at every opportunity. The best kick we have had since Geoff Raines :bow He also like to get physical and is not intimidated by anyone.

Apparently Dimma wasn't happy with his kick outs, they were too risky  :help

so by that I take it they werent the stock standard short chip to the pocket or long kick towards the boundary - the only 2 types of kickouts we go with
