If you hang around The Hairy Malaka to further your career through Malakies this is what happens.
You become a Rat Faced Malaka.

based on tonight i think damien is right. yes we won but how ordinary was it.

poo win.

Fools Gold.

Carlton bottom four team and we lose a quarter and a half to them.

The usual suspects and Dimmers "deer in headlights" coaching technique haven't changed.

When blokes like Macintosh and Hunt walk in and perform it shows how peeweak our guys really are.

Sorry. Couldn't get excited.

Seriously dude ....Carlton didn't score a goal for practically half a game.

Enjoy living in your own misery

there is some sense to what they are saying. we should have beaten them by 12 goals but didn't, that we only won the game by 4 goals is a concern.
that they belted us for a whole quarter and should have been 5 or 6 goals in front at qtime is a concern.

kpis for the team
cclearances -   badly beated especially in the centre.
c/ps - marginally beaten.
tackles - beaten again, we had just 51 tackles for the game. thats a continuing concern.
i/50s - won but only went in 54 times ourselves.
stoppages  marginally beaten.

yep barrett is just being honest dont get carried away with that win it really is head down bum up and work work work.

i saw nothing at all to suggest we are anything more than a middling side still.

The fact that we were not playing well and were 23 points down in the second quarter and still found a way to win and win easily, makes me think we may be better than a middling side. Many say Carlton is a middling side and we were clearly superior to them even with our best mids having a very quiet game.

So what I am saying is that it is too early to tell.  At least we looked fit.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Claw not everything is going to go your way for 120 minutes during a game.
We were 4 goals down half way through the second  worked our way back into the game had a lead by the half and won comfortably by 5 goals. TBH should have been 7-8 goals.

In footy as in life not everything is going to your way, you just have to adapt and change your best laid plans. Whilst there are aspects of the game I am not pleased with overall I'm happy with the 4 points.
Was it fluent no, but we won without major contributions from our best players.
Furthermore we may have unearthed a gem in McIntosh a reliable B grader in Hunt to complement our better players in the midfield. Yes it was only Carlton but sometimes you have stop and smell the roses and take what you can get.
In the past we would have dropped our heads and gone down without a whimper.

As I said I'm happy to take what I can get.

rubbish.

The fact they didn't get out of third gear against such a dud list is proof
that there are problems.
Same ones as usual.
Perhaps you could join the coaching staff, or development?
They'd love you.

I wouldn't pee on Barrett if he was on fire, probably because I set him on fire, but you get the gist...

here  here. or is that hear hear. whatever well said. theres always excuses.  like you im sick to death of stuffing around for bottom to mid table finishes. get it right and win a freakin premiership. the sugar coating makes me sick.

if he talked us up you would probably be his best friend.
head in the sand stuff for no other reason than a bloke dares criticise. never mind the critique is probably warranted.

Was it last year Grand finalist Sydney got rolled in round 1 ( by the friggen giants )
Was it in 2012 - premiers hawthorn got beaten by a point in round 1.
Fremantle only beat WCE in round 1 that year by 28 points and they went on to make the GF

Yet the sky is falling because we had a comfortable -almost five goal win .

this is always the last resort geez the sky is falling. no one has said antthing other than they look no different to last yr. same weaknesses same problems and dont look top 6 yet alone top 4  and we cop  weak  the sky is falling comments..

we werent good. we were beaten in too many  important kpis against very ordinary competition.we we once again got belted for a big period in a game, some  some players were awful all justified points for criticism  and we cop ah the sky is falling.
its almost as if people think we should not criticise em at all after a win. or worse  there was nothing to criticise.

that standard wont get us into the 8. unlike the supporters around here i hope like hell the club is doing something about getting better. only way to get better is to actually acknowledge what we didnt do too well.  its something it seems very few around here are not prepared to do.

lastly when posters are openly saying on threads where are the nay sayers  they are quite after a win   they are asking for negative comment. make no mistake in every game there are always negatives to be talked about.

Well said.

Plenty things that need improvement but after the start we had which was TBBH shocking, to work our way back in and end up winning is a positive, however small it may be it is a positive none the less

Will take it and 4 points that comes with it and move onto next week

Where I am sure if we don't win by at least 15 goals then it will be another failure or something similar  ;D

We should forfeit the 4pts since it wasn't a very good win.
