Skulking the KOol aid

Wiki

"Drinking the Kool-Aid" is a figure of speech commonly used in North America that refers to a person or group holding an unquestioned belief, argument, or philosophy without critical examination. It could also refer to knowingly going along with a doomed or dangerous idea because of peer pressure. The phrase often times carries a negative connotation when applied to an individual or group. It can also be used ironically or humorously to refer to accepting an idea or changing a preference due to popularity, peer pressure, or persuasion.

The phrase derives from the November 1978 Jonestown deaths,[1][2][3] in which over 900 members of the Peoples Temple, who were followers of Jim Jones, died, many of whom committed suicide by drinking a mixture of a powdered soft drink flavoring agent laced with cyanide (with the remainder, including 89 infants and elderly, killed by forced ingestion of the poison).[4][5]

To try a different tune to te current doom and gloom;

Yoof

pleasin signs from;

Menadue
Rioli
Corey Ellis
Mcintosh

Great to have Lennon back

While we do not have superstar, A grade young talent it's a good spattering of decent young players that should hold the club in good sted long time, assuming thy are given games this year

The motley crew.

Short, lambert, Lloyd were all pretty speculative addiditions to the list. Each has stepped up somewhat and at least shown they could be long term players for the club, deapth or first 22

Number of better players to come in:

When the best player on the team is out with injury it hurts. Maric, yarren, Edwards are all pretty clearly in the sides best 10; important b graders for our list.

Menadue, Lennon, C.Ellis  & Rioli all have superstar potential IMO.....Beanie, Choi , Markov & C. Moore too...whether  or notthey all live up to it - or more's the point whether we can develop them properly - is entirely another matter...

I don't think the issue with the list has been nearly as pronounced an issue as the player development, match committee selection or the ineffective coaching at key times in a match.
I reckon Astburys post match comments would've seen him being hauled over the coals but at least he's highlighting it isn't an unqualified support of the coach amongst the playing list.
Dimma should set the standard for taking on feedback and unintelligent coaching if he wants it to trickle down to the playing list.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Astbury's comments were strange. The team has practiced what to do in those situations many times. Why didn't he know what to do?
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Watched an interesting documentary about Jonestown recently. ......not really a mass suicide but mass murder where many were injected with the "kool-aid " against their will.

Definitely worth a watch , its on Netflix.
