pick 8 has nothing to do with the draft?
:facepalm
Once again I didn't say that, you have.
when you trade a pick for a player you don't take into consideration the likelihood of matching or bettering that player at the draft table?
:facepalm
Oh,is that how it works?
 :clapping
to determine if a player is worth a pick, you have to be able to put a value on the pick, surely?
This is basically what I'm referring too, do you think he is worth exactly pick 8 and WHY?
What traits does Prestia possess that  warrant a pick so high?

Cause to get Prestia you'd have to trade a draft pick

Hence the draft and prestias value is directly related

Correct but my post was about WHY some people think Prestia is WORTH pick 8 in a trade.

Is he actually WORTH a pick as high as 8 considering his form is no better this year than say  Grigg?

you must rate grigg pretty highly then.

I have already given my reasons as to why i think he is worth pick 8 or thereabouts, both in regards to where he is at and what pick 8 is worth.

They're only stats but I would've thought the meatball would of had slightly better stats than Grigg, I was wrong.

Prestia vs Grigg

try for averages for their career and see how it stacks up.

then just for poos and giggles, compare them to cotch.

Prestia is a clearance machine, thats the engine room for everything else.
was second for clearances and 9th for contested possessions in the league last year.

I reckon Grigg gets a raw deal at times from some on this forum, but prestia is miles ahead of him, considering his best should still be in from of him, while grigg has probably peaked

I dont need to compare I've been watching him and I agree his form was a lot better back then and his disposal by foot was also better but
right now when the suns have needed him to rise to the occasion, IMO he hasn't.

Im all for using a 1st rounder to get a mid in but I'd rather use next years rather than this years as there is the possibility  :pray that we may have a pretty good father son selection
to choose.

Also I'd go Brad crouch over Prestia if I had to use our 1st this year.

Never seen Prestia play as bad as Grigg did tonight.

Bet all the guns will be queuing up to play alongside him, Hunt, B.Ellis, Conca etc......

Once Hardwick gets a hold of him you won't have to wait too long.

Rockliff, O’Meara on Saints’ radar
Herald Sun
4 July 2016

Montagna was asked about Rockliff after it emerged this week he had pulled his latest contract proposal off the table.

“Hopefully we can lure a big name whether it is a Dion Prestia or a Jaeger O’Meara (both from Gold Coast) or (Brisbane’s) Tom Rockliff ... someone like that will certainly add to the team.”
