Meanwhile, contracted Collingwood forward Travis Cloke is now highly unlikely to head to Richmond following the appointment of Neil Balme as the Tigers’ new football boss.

Cloke had keen interest from the Tigers and the Western Bulldogs, where he may now be headed after requesting a trade.

Sydney midfielder Tom Mitchell could soon join out-of-contract Gold Coast midfielder Jaeger O’Meara in requesting a trade to Hawthorn.

O’Meara knocked back a two-year offer from Gold Coast worth up to $1.4 million. Mitchell is also coming out of contract and it is believed his required pay has priced him out of the Swans, who would not be able to fit him in under their salary cap.

However, The Australian believes the Hawks could fit in both players, and possibly Richmond free agent Ty Vickery, on back-ended contracts with some list changes and other tinkering.

What's the difference the hawks will accept the compo pick we get for Vickery anyway.  We have a chance to work with the hawks here as it will be a win for them if we don't match the offer

2. Why would the hawks want to get rid of hartung? Hawks arent blessed with outside run and this will be compounded with Hill leaving, so as a list management decision, no way they want to lose him unless they realise he is complete poo (see point 1.)
