I like riddles
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Grimes is soft  :lol

Grimes is far from soft

Agreed - ridiculous thing to say. Puts his body on the line every week.
It was only a joke mate, at Claws expense.
Grimes is one of my favourites and one of the bravest at the club.
But as soft as butter im happy to cop the ridicule as usual. but you are not watching close enough if you think he aint soft.A bit like Ellis actually courageous in some ways as soft as they come in others.
Edwards another who totally escapes criticism for being as soft and weak as they come for different reasons. For what ever reason we have too many just like Grimes.
Comparing anyone to Bellis when it comes to being soft and scared is just not footy.
Anyway....
I recon Grimes is extremely underrated when it comes to our structures. He plays on the comps dangerous small forwards put can quite easily play on the agile bigger guys like Darling.
These types are so valuable in today's footy.
We would be stuffed without Rance and Grimes.

The only thing you are watching is your todger as you jerk it mercilessly back and forth while posting on the forum.
If you watched closely, you'd be happy with Grimes as a 3rd defender.

Think this guy will surprise us. He is going to be heaps better than Vickery as a ruck forward.

Continues the tradition of Tassie boys at Richmond too.

Best quality is one I would like to see in more of our players: absolutely HATES losing.  :clapping
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

I'm excited about Nank the Tank. He'll be a good addition I reckon.

Although, I said that about Townsend....

I have this uneasy feeling that he will shank easy set shots from 30 metres out.
Apart from that, reckon he gives us the grunt we've been lacking in the ruck.

So what did we get here. Well so far a very below standard AFL player. We certainly did not trade for him based on performances at the top level. But hey that is based on just 12 games in his first three years.
I for one have not seen a lot of this bloke but for a young ruckman he seemed to be tracking along okay. Statistically it is not great reading but again he has played just 12 games. His form away from AFL  has apparently been very good dominating at NEAFL but one has to be careful when looking at what he may be playing against down there.
Disposals - 10
Tackles - 4.6
MKS - 1.7
c/m - 0.5
Gls - 0.25
H/O - 11.7

As i said statistically at least it does not make for pretty reading but one has to factor in he has been  a junior ruckman who needs to development

I  see a physically ready player who can play if he is needed but he is a player who needs much development.
At 199cm and 106kg we have a Maric type or Mumford type imo he will be vulnerable against the spring heeled mobile  types. What he should bring for us is an extra big body at the contest when the ball hits the ground.

So far he has not taken  a lot of marks and hardly any contested onesand managed just 3 goals.  I am not sure he can become a goal kicking ruckman.Other concern is atm he has not won many H/O but that is neither here nor there atm as long as he gives a good contest.

Personally i think him a good get but i really hope there is patience shown with him. Imo  We have the  Maric replacement he just needs to develop and get to a good level.  We still dont have the Hampson replacement. Maybe we have him on the list already in Chol but Chol's size is a huge worry, until he gains the size and strength  he will take time to play in the role at AFL level.
Trouble is at some stage Chol will need to be  actually developed as a ruckman.

LOL Unfortunately that is true.
Still it is a worry that based on recent form he is the best ruck option we have. In fairness to him i thought he was pretty servicable in a fair few games last yr definately need an upgrade but not as bad as most made him out to be.

Such a long record to judge him by yet we still went and got him god knows what they saw or were thinking.

Another positive is one of (if not the) best games he played was in the semi-final. Just good he didn't turn to pudding.

Oh and career high tackles = 9. Hampsons is 5 = 0.4 more than Nankervis' average :lol

I agree with WAT. We should just stick with Hampson because although he's a dud, at least we know he's a dud (oh and he trains well too)
