wouldn't risk him

Give him a week off, massive games coming after this one

Seriously if we can't beat N0rt then we don't deserve play finals

The ruck combo of him and Soldo is not working at all for me .

I don’t think we have a choice at ‘risking him’. If the medicos say he’s good to go then must play, unless one of soldo or balta can get up. Then again with balta coming back off his second hammy, I’m not sure I’d be throwing him into the ruck just yet.

Yes we are playing north but they almost took the points from the pies on the weekend and after all the weak losses we’ve succumbed to, we can’t be overly confident against any team anymore.

Update from Peter Burge:

Toby Nankervis, knee

"Toby had an incident early in the game with a ruck contest at the centre bounce and got a direct hit on the knee. A typical PCL-type injury that the rucks get from time to time in that jump where they make contact. He's had this injury last year as well and he's been managing it pretty much for the past 12 months but it's been under control. It stirred him up and he was playing through the game but had a number of ruck contests were there was contact and late in the game he was flagging with us that he was really struggling to run. So, with 10 minutes to go, medically we decided that he would finish (the game) there. He's pulled up surprisingly not too badly, so we haven't actually ruled him out of this weekend's game. He's in the doubtful category right now, we just want to have another look at it later in the week. The scans have showed pretty much what we already knew... He's not completely out of the frame for the weekend."

We need Balta back. Nank can't ruck Solo.

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Jack Riewoldt also touched on Richmond co-captain Toby Nankervis who will play against North despite hurting his knee last weekend.

“He’s so tough,” Riewoldt said of the ruckman.

“He just grinds through. He’s not going to be at 100 per cent but he just shows up and goes out and performs.

“The big ‘Nanka’, he’s ready to go.”

According to Jack he showed all the leadership he needed to by just taking the field for the game. That seems to be part of the problem atm.

Nothing in it.

His free kicks are an issue though.

Worst game I’ve seen him play, I thought he was arrogant and unprofessional.

6 free kicks in a half allowing a maladroit CCJ free ball out of the middle  :help :banghead

Undisciplined acts causing easy ball to the opposition  :banghead

He’s been a champion but these games need to be called out when they occur

How can he and grimes with all their experience and success allow this crap to happen?

Our standards have slipped and we’ve allowed this mediocre performances to occur and it starts with our captains.

Not good enough.
The club that keeps giving.

Agree was poor.

I will say the free kicks were very very soft. The blocking free was hugely line ball, he blocked and win the tap as he got the ground. Hugely subjective. Then a high contact against him was just not there. Regardless was very off his game.
