Ivan Maric to retire at the end of the season (RFC)

Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric has announced his retirement from AFL football, effective at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old informed the Club’s playing group of his decision on Thursday morning.

“I believe it’s the right time and the right decision for the Club and for me, and that makes me feel at peace and happy with the call,” Maric told his teammates.

Over the years our club has made some blunders at the trade table

But Ivvy was one we go so so right.

Been fantastic for our club.

Think he deserves our respect and thanks for a great Tiger career

Agree with WP. I will never forget that goal he kicked against Carlton in the elimination final. He had enormous character and always tried his best for the club. A selfless decision by a great clubman.

It was actually shocking that he got another year to be honest.  Hasn't been relevant for two seasons. 

You never know how this season will play out though - could be in the right place / right time .

He was epic in 2012/13/14 .

No surprise we broke finals drought in 13 with Maric in our side. The club flogged him and made him virtually solo ruck every week but he was sensational for us right up to 2015
