Why did our Irish experiment fail?

Honestly why are we so bad at developing players from other codes? Where are our Irish recruits now? It's a free pass to recruit internationally.

Let's just get the development of our drafted players right first before we stress about those from other codes.

Now that the development guru  :lol Chocco is focusing on media Street and our team development finally seems to be rapidly improving I reckon it might be a good opportunity to get us a Conor McGregor type.

What I don't get is why we don't automatically have 2 or 3 other code recruits on the list every year as sooner or later one will come good.

But how many good Irish recruits historically have been great? Like after Jim Stynes, Pearce Hanley, and Tadgh Kennelly I am struggling to think of decent Irish recruits in the league.
