Not at all surprised. His movement has been poor for much of the year. Seeing this as a positive - CCJ and Nank will give us something extra up forward, and he'll be back better than ever later in the year.

Great! More injuries to our key players :help.

Medium term could be anywhere between 4-8 weeks too so he is going to be out for a while :(.

Maybe this is why we now have a mid season pick?

Nah Soldo being put on the LTIL is why we have a pick. By the time the draft and bye occur Lynch would be on track to be back in a few weeks after the bye.

The Tigers vaguely revealed on Wednesday that Tom Lynch would miss time with a knee injury and Balme has clarified the timeline on his return.

“I think in the good old days he would still be playing, which is why I finished playing at 27. That’s the issue with it. They said he probably could play a few more games without too many problems, but it is a cartilage issue that he has to have fixed and it’s wise to do so and he’ll probably miss five to six weeks,” he said.

“Then at least we’ve got him at the end of the season when hopefully we’re seriously challenging and he’ll be available.

“Whilst we’re going to miss him for six weeks it’s not the worst thing that can happen.”

Benny Gale discussing Lynch:

"It's something we've been managing. But it's got to the point where they had a look at it and felt they needed to take a little more corrective surgery. I think it's a routine procedure. It's just going to take a little time. We don't need that news. We've had a challenging run. But, fortunately, we start to get a few back particularly around our midfield. So we're excited about that".

What sort of deal could we get for trading Lynch?

Trade him to Melbourne for their first rounder (probably low around 20).

The rate this guy is going since 2019 we would be better off with the cap space to spend on CCJ + Chol.
