The planned demolition of the Jack Dyer Grandstand roof took place this morning.

All relevant historical signage, foundation stones, boards, seating, unique accessories were safely removed prior to today.

The new Jack Dyer Grandstand will rise in mid-2027

Got to laugh at the end ...
Almost like a PM or premier, with the unnecessary hardhat and hi-vis gear attempting to add legitimacy to what's going on

Don't stress legend, we already know you won't be picking up a shovel

Yup I’d imagine other than designated walk ways to get between the buildings and the oval that everywhere else falls within the “construction zone” as unnecessary as it may be in some areas not having boots and a hard hat when being interviewed on national TV would be a bad look lol

The original 1914 foundation stone and the 1927 foundation stone from the extension were both rescued and will be re-inserted into the new stand.

----------------

The end of an era at Punt Road. The Jack Dyer Stand demolished (great vision👇), with a brand new version to be built by mid-2027.
@Richmond_FC eyeing off Waverley Park as a temporary training base in the back half of 2026.
