Should be part of the fringe player brigade but unfortunately we don't have the players to force him from the team. He is one of the reasons we have players like Sheezel getting leather poisoning.

I'd keep him as insurance until the kids take over.

I don’t understand why we can’t get him play a “Tom Atkins” type role with us. Maybe it’s him, maybe it’s the coaching but he should be the perfect hard inside defensive mid

He’s no where near the player atkins is. Probably have similar limitations but atkins is just so aggressive at the ball and man

I think we are kinda saying the exact same thing.

47.2 IS The average yet our so called best kick into the fwd 50 is below that average and is the only one of the 18 clubs.
Its not a flattering stat for the team or Ross.

Is the stat kicks to advantage into fwd 50 or just any kick into the forward 50??

Key Tiger earns contract extension after career-best season

Jack Ross signs two-year deal to remain at Richmond until the end of 2028

RICHMOND free agent Jack Ross has secured a new deal at Punt Road after producing a career best season in 2025.

The 25-year-old has agreed to a new two-year contract extension to remain in the yellow and black until the end of 2028.

Ross bounced back from the stress fracture that limited him in 2024 to play all 23 games last season, finishing top 10 in the Jack Dyer Medal for the first time.

Tigers coach Adem Yze used Ross as a high forward more at times last year as well as through the midfield.

Ross has played 93 games since being selected by the Tigers at pick No.43 in the 2018 AFL Draft.

Richmond enters 2026 with six free agents, but Ross is the only one under the age of 30.

Premiership stars Tom Lynch, Toby Nankervis, Nathan Broad, Dion Prestia and Nick Vlaustin are all free agents this year.

I would have waited until the end of the season.

I didn’t think he made any improvements last season and can certainly see him playing plenty of VFL this year as thecubs go past him.

Absolutely

Even wait until mid season

Really don't understand the fixation on this guy that some people have

I am indifferent. He’s not bad enough to delist and not good enough to be in starting midfield. I think he’s fine as a role player and one who can set standards on training track for cubs.
Maintain that we need a hard ass run with mid and he is perfect.

We simply cannot have him Hopper, Taranto and Meatie in the same midfield so that’s where we might have a problem

As for resigning him, i put him in same bucket as coach - no need to jump the gun.
