Wagga Wagga City Council is thrilled to reveal tickets to next year’s Marsh Community Series showdown between reigning AFL premiers, Richmond, and Greater Western Sydney at Robertson Oval will go on sale in January.

AFL and club members will enjoy the first crack at securing sought-after tickets to the grand final rematch on Sunday 8 March when a pre-sale opens at 9am on Thursday 30 January.

Just 24 hours later, tickets to the biggest and most anticipated AFL pre-season fixture of the year will go on sale to the general public.

Mayor the City of Wagga Wagga Councillor Greg Conkey is expecting strong support for the fixture, which is set to coincide with an AFLW premiership fixture on Saturday 7 March between the Giants and Tigers.

“I would encourage footy fans to jot January 31 down on their calendars to make sure their ready to get in quick, and secure their tickets,” Councillor Conkey said.

“Richmond have a membership base of more than 100,000 and the Giants have a huge following in this region.

“These tickets will go fast.”

Well considering the finalised squad will consist of 26 players, at least 4 blokes lining up on Sunday won't be lining up in round 1... :shh

Strong side. Only Nank (and of course Ellis now gone) missing from the our premiership 22.

Seems like Nank won't be available for round 1. Chol and Balta were poor last week so it's now up to CCJ and even Biggie to see who will partner Soldo in the season opener. If no one performs will we go with just Soldo as the lone ruck against the Blues?

If CCJ can have a good game as second ruck then from that bench it's down to Bolts, Stack and Dow for the final two spots on the round 1 bench. You'd expect Lambert to be there while I don't see Biggie, Ross or Higgins making it yet.

Markov, Aarts and Chol are going to have their work cut out for them this year to survive beyond 2020 at Tigerland. Not a good sign if you're being dropped already and younger players are ahead of you.

There’s no talk of revenge in the Giants camp but victory on Sunday would certainly ease the pain just a little for the orange and charcoal faithful.

Winning the Brisbane Commonwealth Games match against Carlton two weeks after the 1982 GF loss sure didn't ease the pain  :(.

As us for today, the main thing is no injuries  :pray.

First goal to GWS.

Finlayson has already had a kick more than the duck eggs he had in the GF  :snidegrin.
