Summary:

* Torrential rain in Perth. Got to bed at 2am (yesterday morning). Players day off/recovery (Monday). Tuesday (today) is main review day.

* Dimma said he's found this year harder than 2020 because of all the uncertainty around changes to fixturing and all the logistics involved around it. Last year, once they got to Queensland they knew they were there for the rest of the season and it became routine.

* Dimma also said you can look at yesterday's game many ways but there were facets we weren't happy with. Disappointed in our stoppage loss but reasonably happy with other parts of our game. It's always a learning curve for us. Just got to get the fundamentals of our game going the right way.

* We knew it would come down to making a sustained run of it in the last month. We looked at where our list was placed with the players gradually coming back. We were hoping we could pinch the Geelong game. Need to piece 4 games together and steal that place in the Eight. We've had some experience before where your best footy is needed at the right time (of the season). So we're confident if we get there we'll be able to put some wins on the board and cause some damage come finals if we make it.

* Dunstall asked if our system based gamestyle has broken down this year due to the loss of personnel and inability to execute like we use and that we are now more reliant on those key players?

Dimma replied that that was a fair comment. It's a little bit of both (system & loss of key players). We haven't had the continuity of players playing together for a sustained period. Large number of players going in and out each week including losing whole lines. Mids earlier in the season and now our backline. System is as strong as its parts and those parts are really earning the game. We're really excited about some of the players we've brought into the side. Sometime every cloud has a silver lining but sometimes that lining is hard to see. There's been positive signs this year. It hasn't gone the way we planned but we're still positive it will end up a good Richmond season.
