What I don’t like is that he sold our future of on the promise of having a crack at another premiership but when it clear we won’t get there he gives up and says he is burnt out
But now it’s a miracle he is rejuvenated and can coach a developing side , but not our developing side
I will always be grateful but it might have been better if he just said I have a better offer from the AFL

I think he was clear.
He referenced the last dance and we recruited for it. Yes, makes sense.
We were in front in all games last year into the last qtr bar 1 or 2. Adding midfield grunt in an increasingly midfield friendly game (thanks to rules) made sense.
We rolled the dice and it was clear it wasn’t going to work by round 9.

So he quit.
Yes, it all makes sense.

He earned the right to have a crack - he’s not Terry Fn Wallace.
Same circumstances and I would have backed him in again.
On paper it made sense.

He left when it became apparent it didn’t work and I’m applauding him for not stringing this out like Adam Simpson, Alastair Clarkson and Luke Beveridge are doing.

He won’t be at Gold Coast until November 1 so let’s not make stuff up. Coaches all start back then.

6 months is heaps of time to recharge the batteries.

Let it go and leave him be ya miserable sods.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Never been a Dimma fan boy but jeez some people here are carrying on like he's Bomber Thompson... :shh

He's turned into a bit of an odd dude for the moment I think. Probably will fit right in on the Gold Coast.

I don’t care what Dimma does moving forward. I agree it’s not a good look for him and I think it’s pretty obvious discussions were had re Gold Coast before he pulled the pin. That’s life and the AFL industry these days.

But, can anyone explain why we’d need to pay him anything when he quit on us?

We won't be paying him for the last year of his contract as you said he quit. We didn't sack him so there is no payout

Club and Dimma made it clear they had negotiated a deal when he quit around how he'd be paid for this season

Nothing to see here

Honestly done care if Dimma and the GC already had a deal.

He delivered for us. That’s it.

It was time for a new voice. Let’s see what that brings.
