I hope I am wrong.
Let’s see how we all feel about this time next year.
On Yze, I think he is doing an okay job so far. Not awful, not amazing. I don’t think that warrants another 3 years that’s all.
I accept that might be harsh to some but it’s a view based on evidence of on field performance. Not just win/loss but % and number of heavy losses our ability to change course in games - i mentioned the norf game.
I don’t think we should be reacting on “industry standard” either.
Look at Freo, they put Longmuire - he’s not even under contract - on staff. That’s actually a great idea and a very progressive approach.
If they (and we) are so confident, why not do that? Protects us if something goes wrong.

I just think there’s a better way to manage it.
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Wasnt it a 2 year extension, not 3?

HRT, what is it that you're seeing in the footy field that makes you disagree about Yze being a long term option?

Positives
Calm
*Good at relationship building - he’s clearly a good guy which helps build trust
*Game plan when on is good
*Good at communication

Negatives
* Too one note on game day. Was good vs Blues r1 but very little adjusted overall which I think is an open watch given where he came from
* I have seen little or no growth in our younger players - Ross, HRS, Balta, Short etc. He also lost 4 very good players last year - good coaches attract talent.

Watch outs
* Will he develop cubs to become elite talent?
* Will he be able to get top tier talent adjust their own game for role ie. Dimma with Cotchin
* Can he change game momentum more regularly when things go against us. We completely go to water too often and too easily(% was 66 last season)
* Is he strong enough to make some tough decisions on team selection- the whole carousel of dropping fringe players when our most experienced kept getting played bothers me. Exhibit A - KMac plays 23 games and then delisted. Like seriously WTF? It took until October to realise this or did we give him a Dave Warner arm chair ride in his farewell season. Either way, doesn’t sit comfortably with me that behaviour is building a premiership side.

Look at the age demographics of top 10 in our B&F this year. It’s a worry compared to other younger clubs and must change by this time next year otherwise we will be a huge hole.

Some of may sound harsh but there it’s my take and if it doesn’t change by this time next year than we won’t be any better off - he’s effectively now in year 1 of a 3 year contract again so no more training wheels for me.
