Ridiculous to suggest we replace a coach during an anticipated rebuild.

That's the kind of crap that Essendon and Carlton have repeatedly done and it's only hurt their progress.

Andy I agree with you , just wanted to question you saying “ anticipated rebuild”, you think the majority rebuild is yet to come?

Safe until 2027 imo. Don’t forget last year was a nothing year, club was in no man’s land, aging past it players / players in their prime with 1 foot out the door and no top end young talent coming through. Season 2025 club commits to a full rebuild, don’t think any coach is getting sacked in the 1st 2 seasons of a rebuild.

👆👆

He isn't going anywhere. Yes he had a shocker in the box on Saturday but the over reactions here are staggering.

It's funny, majority want us to finish bottom 2, have said 2025 is going to a shocking year as we rebuild and that exactly what's looking like happening and people are complaining

Can't have it both way folks ::)

Can still expect him to at least demonstrate some tactical nous, a solid, coherent, easily identifiable game plan and make good selections,  these things aren't mutually exclusive. :shh

I'm more referring to his first year prior to the massive draft haul and everything that subsequently comes after that - further anticipated retirements who won't feature in our next flag (Lynch, Prestia, KMac, Vlastuin etc), blokes that probably won't make the team long term (Dow for example), draftees that won't make it etc.

The club knew this was coming, hired Yze, and has made sweeping changes.

Firing and hiring coaches now is absolutely the dumbest crap we could possibly do. It would mean paying out Yze and impacting our soft cap and creating instability in a developing team during a phase where the results we're seeing really should be expected.

He’s gonna have to make tough calls on guys like Taranto hopper and Ross though. If he doesn’t make them this year it’s understandable. Next year is a must though.

No doubt about it way to similar and no pace and kicking an issue. Some here just blame Yze for everything 🙄

Jon Ralph has reported [last night] that we’re considering a contract extension for Adem Yze.

How many years is he contracted for? I certainly wouldn’t be offering an extension yet. Although if he was only contracted for 3, I can see this being done. Senior coaches just dont go into the last year of their deals, creates a media shitstorm and clubs just fold and extend their deals.

He was appointed for 3 years

So 2026 is the final year of his current deal

Agree but would wait until season’s end. 4 wins is a pass and 6 is a genuinely good result

It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

No reason to rush this for another 12 months or so but the way he's going I'd consider him a lock for an extension. Boys seem to really enjoy playing for him and I think the assistants he has are helping a lot too.
