Rate a Tiger's year - Jack Ross?
« on: September 07, 2023, 07:51:20 PM »
Next up is Ross.

In his 5th season of AFL, Jack played 19 games to take his career tally to 63. Ross injured his medial ligament in his left knee prior to the start of the season and played in only two of the first six rounds being omitted after one game in twice. However, upon returning in Round 7 vs Gold Coast, he played in every match for the remainder of our season. It was the most AFL matches Ross had played in one year and statistically his highest return.

Season Highlights:
● 27 disps (13 kicks 14 hballs), 7 marks and 4 tackles in Rd 19 1-pt win over Hawthorn at the MCG (22 Jul)
● 26 disps (13 kicks 13 hballs) and 10 marks in Rd 10 1-pt loss to Essendon at the MCG (20 May)
● 23 disps (11 kicks 12 hballs), 8 marks and a goal in Rd 3 14-pt loss to Collingwood at the MCG (31 Mar)

Significant improvement and muxg more consistent

I've been one of his harshest critics

I gave him an 8. Vastly exceeded my expectations and I think played at the absolute ceiling of his talent. He doesn’t have the tools to single handedly win us a game but he wasn’t a liability and also at times was the only decent player for us on the park

Might have reached his ceiling as a winger but not as an on-baller though which is where his real talent lies :shh

Agree hope that now Cotchin has retired he will be given a more time in the middle.

Could apply that to a couple of others  :shh

Someone gave him a 10 as well

With all the 10’s floating around , I’m shocked we didn’t win the flag by 15 goals
