I wish Shane all the best I really do. I must admit a question why we haven't appointed someone with significant experience. I guess Benny only had AFLPA CEO gig previously but yeah an internal appointment comes with some questions that lack clarity around why we have done this rather than external.

Hope it all works out and good luck to him.

Not a fan of another internal appointment. Hopefully proves me way off the mark.

We need someone to put the plan together and implement it, not a box ticker, we are rebuilding on and off the field and we need great planning and strong leadership .
No idea who this bloke is .

Trying to be positive but we have a really important period over the next 4 years to get right like Hawthorn have or run the risk of being an Essendon or North for 4-8 years.

I'll stick with being positive that with so much change in 2 years a known figure as CEO does have positives.

Seems to be young. I like the new faces and everyone being able to grow together, but we must have some experienced leadership like balmey

Quite funny

I actually have met Shane a number of times over the years

But when I read Frankie's post my initial reaction was who?

Then when I checked out the link above and saw the pic, I thought I know him

I've always just known him as Shane, no clue about his surname LOL

From what I know , to me it's a good appointment

CEO’s normally have a presence that you don’t forget. Doesn’t sound like he fits that brief.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

To go from vfl runner to club CEO is one hell of a leap.

Don’t let anyway tell you the RFC doesn’t offer career progression lol

Really just because I didn't know his surname he "doesn't fit the brief"

Outside of working in membership, he's been involved in sponsorship and marketing and top end coteries (benefactors)

It's a good appointment IMHO

It's just disappointing the Club hasn't officially announced it

The club will announce it when they think it's appropriate . Which imo is quite ok.

I guess they think the best time is after our season is finished.  Again I'm OK with that.

You said “When I read it, i said who?”. So no, that doesn’t fit the brief. Great CEO’s cut through. Even when they are building toward the top job. You’re just rubber stamping that view.
