This is annoying, bad list management imho. We could have kept him , or traded him . Now he goes to another club for nothing. It may be the case for Kosi too. Why  let them go without trying to get a very late pick back as we need the points for Kellaway.

Losing blight and young for next to nothing very silly

Losing them for what they are worth

A top4 team thinks blight is worth something

So your suggesting we give contracts to players we don't want and are rated behind too many others.

What usually happens is delisted players get picked up as dfa's for nothing.

What is happening here is supporters are greatly over estimating players on the list in this case Blight, Koschitzke and Young.

When a key position player can't get a game in a team that's being smashed by injuries there has to be something wrong.  The club do know what the problem is & they are happy to let him go for nothing, that would be his worth then - nothing.  What was obvious is that 'the boy can play', yet there is a problem big enough to just let him go ...    :-\
Would have thought if a defender is not getting a game its about other defenders. Truth be told our defense was pretty darn stable all year.

He got a crack early rounds 2 - 6 in Balta's absence suspension,  he was never going to be played in front of Balta.

He then played rounds 17 and 18 with Balta and Miller and they clearly did not like that set up prefering Young for the rest of the season and he made a pretty good fist of it.
He was clearly over taken by young. Not a world beater himself.
You then have 21yo  Gray who showed heaps and a real upside and thats what we are currently about picking players with real upside and a potential higher ceiling and the returning Gibcus and its the same scenario.

We have not done enough imo as far as list turnover goes, if i was gunna be critical, its that, not letting go of borderline players when we have a whole heap of similar types with higher ceilings.

So Collingwood want him good on em i hope he has a great career with them but atm he is not a good fit for us.

Collingwood and KPD'S geez they should be desperate to get two or three on their list i only see Moore and Frampton.
Would not be surprised to see a player like May end up with them.

Great post crawski
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

I don’t believe you know what the club is thinking and but I was suggesting the club should have waited until they knew if Young was staying and as other clubs were talking to Blight and Kosi we should have waited  . Everyone else seemed to understood what I was suggesting.

I posted that about a fortnight ago
