I’m with you Andy although I don’t think we’d blink twice if CDT were available at our pick unless Essendon make us a stupid good offer. Expect him to get snagged by the eagles though.

I’ve warmed up to both CDT and Taylor if the club want to be ignore sharp (silly imo). Expecting us to land Robey and 1 of CDT (if still available) / Sharp and Taylor (depending on clubs preference).

AJ - I don’t think Hobbs’ junior career can hold a candle to Sharp’s. Talk of him being one dimensional is a bit over the top too, he seems quite handy around goals, either from midfield or resting up there for spells.

I think Sharp should be priority 1.

After that I'm quite keen on Robey, CDT, Cumming etc but I really don't see the point of a medium defender atm, as much as I love Flossy.

If the club seems Taylor as a Vlastuin regen then it's a reasonable selection I think

If there was a guarantee he was a Flossy MK2 I agree it would be hard to pass.

But then how do we manage all of Balta, Miller, Gibcus, Brown, Trainor etc, you'd have to find a spot for one of them somewhere else IMO.

I'd be happy to try Brown forward again personally.

If not Eagles at pick two I can see Tigers going on a bidding spree with a few options who fit the list needs. The highest midfielder and tall defender left on my board were Taylor and Robey, and I didn’t think twice for the Tigers here. There is discussion about whether Richmond need another player like Lalor but midfielders who can hit the scoreboard are a rare breed and often end up stars of the game.

 

If Duff-Tytler is available I can’t see Tigers passing as he would make a great understudy for Nankervis, but could also end up a star key forward as well. A player like Emmett could also fit that bill and could be a real bargain down the line. Kellaway might get a bid but have him making it through the national draft and should provide handy midfield depth.

Personally would be blown away if we draft Taylor. Fine player but it's not in our needs IMO.

Balta, Gibcus, Trainor, Miller. That's a back 4 for the next 7 years with a Balta replacement FA when Balta gets too old to compliment Gibcus and Trainor in peak years. I can't see Taylor playing much best 22 for a while unless we shift Balta or Gibcus forward, which I really hope we do not do.

Just think sharps type can be picked up via trade or draft pretty easily.

Taranto, Hopper, Tom Mitchell, Clayton Oliver,  Jack Mccrae, Jack Steele all fall into that type of player and they’ve moved clubs, most of them for not much of a price either. Clubs just don’t value these types like they used to.

On the flip side if you are an absolute BEAST of an inside player with a burst to break away from packs then you could be viewed as a Matt Rowell ceiling type. So that’s where sharp would have to get to which I don’t see happening
