Richmond is a club that will ask the question over Ben Ainsworth as he seeks a trade out of the suns. Carlton at this stage would be leading the race early. Essendon also a big watch - after making a play for him last year, they may come into the frame again

I wonder if GC would take pick 3 for Answorth and Pick 8.

Do we want a player like him?

I'm a little underwhelmed and his age profile is worse than Young's if that's the knock people want to go with about premiership windows etc

Hmmm I dunno... Pick 8 will end up at P11-12.
P3 will be P3 from now on.

I think I'd rather take P3 to the draft.

We’re gonna recruit some older players along the way that appear less than exciting but serve a purpose for the rebuild - don’t think Ainsworth is one of them

Andyy, I reckon Uwland and Annables will most likely get bidded on as a minimum, I think there’s another as well so pick 3 will probably end up becoming pick 6….
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

@CalTwomey
Done deal on Liam Ryan🚨

Liam Ryan has been traded to St Kilda in exchange for the Saints' 2026 second-round pick.

Plus the Eagles will give St Kilda a 2027 third-round pick –

history has been made with the first 'Future future' pick traded

Question:
Whispers doing the rounds in the city of churches that Richmond are calling port and dangling picks 3 and 4 for Zak [Butters] who would say no

Foxsports' Jack Jovanovski:
Port Adelaide!

--------------------------------------

Question:
Morning Ben, The Tigers and Dons any interest in Richmond trading their 2,3 and a future 2nd rounder for say 4,5 & 20. Essendon want to move up how much is up to them to decide?

Foxsports' Ben Waterworth:
Think Essendon has to be really compelling if they want to move up. I'd say in this year's draft there's a decent difference between Picks 2 and 3 and 4 and 5.

Clayton Oliver is seeking a move to GWS. His manager Nick Gieschen has confirmed the below:

“Clayton Oliver has confirmed his desire to be traded to GWS. GWS will now work with Melbourne to strike a deal between the clubs.”

It'd be worth getting butters just for the crying of essendon fans who reckons they already own him

Not interested in trading for butters. Not in a position to be losing those picks yet

Only if we deliberately bid to damage their draft hands - which I think we should. I wish all clubs were more aggressive like this.

I don't think 3+4 is enough tbh, but I would do it personally. He's young enough, great player, the type we need, captain material etc.

3+4 are great picks but still have a chance of being busts.

Agreed on both fronts Andyyyy.
Butters would be a massive get but hopefully he holds up, we win 8-10 games and that convinces him to back us in over Pies, Bullies and Bombers.

Any team who wants butters will have to trade for him next year too. Port can and will 100% match any offer made to him.

Yeah they'd be silly not to...
Realistically this is probably our best chance if we were to have a crack.
It would probably require all of 3 + 4 + 2026 1st IMO. Maybe try to get some 2nds back.
