We still have Balta from the 2017 draft too and a couple of the top picks left CCJ and Higgins for more money and opportunity. The only busts of that draft were CCJ and Naish. Though Miller at pick 60 odd had to be speculative he has done well to stay on the list.

I'm not sure we could have done any better in 2021 if you look at all the picks below 30 only Marcus Windhager at 47 stands out. I think it wasn't a deep draft probably because of COVID.

The 2019 draft was a real bust for us 4 our of 5 duds and Ralph Smith is the only success from pick 46 which is just luck, you can't expect a decent player from the third round. We had a very weak draft hand though 4 of the 5 picks were above 40.

How the hell Chad Warner lasted until pick 39 beggars belief.  That was a miss by the club but everyone missed there.

II think it was the correct decision.  The club gave Dow a fair crack at showing whether he was upto AFL standards. Unfortunately for Dow he was not able to show he could consistently  play at the required level. Good luck to him in his future endeavors

Let me say straight up I agree with the decison.

But I think he was only given a "fair crack at it" in the lat 2 seasons. Certainly wasn't under Dimma's reign,  not that many of our draftees were, hence it's one of the reasons why we find ourselves in the situation we are in.
And in those last two seasons he was given games where his form didn't merit selection and others had been dropped for less.
