Polo - 2008 expectations?
« on: December 30, 2007, 07:33:54 AM »
Probably a good time as any to start looking towards next year beginning with Deano.

What are your expectations for Polo in 2008 and what would be a good year for him?

Over the years, have figured out it's better for your mental health if you have no expectations when it comes to the Tiges - sorry to say  :help

By round 1, he keeps Judd to 12 possessions, by the end of the year he is the second coming of Kane Cornes.

You would want to hope he had more Kahuna's than Cornes!  One of the funniest things I have ever seen in football - Cornes confronting B. Hall at Football Park, Hall shaping to throw a punch, Cornes going down like a stuck pig without Hall even moving.  Priceless!  :lol

I hope he's learnt from last year where he got ahead of himself. Add to that hope his shoulder is fine and he can earn and cement a spot in our midfield for the whole season.

Step 1, Not to turn up with the ""checkered hair cut again, If he does , out the door.
Needs to play 15 games or more to cement his position

Polo had 24 disposals that night so he stood out too. Problem was Scotty West had 35.

The shoulder is fine (he told me before Xmas it was great) which is a plus for him. You can't play AFL and have your shoulder popping in an out :thumbsup

I expect him to become a regular in our mid-field to give one N Foley some assistance.

Would also like to see him slot a few more 6 pointers and give Buddy another spanking ;D

Cornes is a tremendous player and as arrogant an self assured as you would expect from a player of his talent. He can play anywhere in any role as was evident when he decided to take it upon himself to tag Hirdy when he was in career best form and kept him to a handful of possessions.

Can't stand him though.

Polo will need to develop his body further but has all the talent and confidence of a potential champion. I would love to see him have more games this year like his first but I will be happy with a consistent improvement and for him to take more responsibility and play for the team.
