Rawlings very positive. Said we have stringed goals together all season so we can win this. Boundaryrider couldn't see the latest injury update.

Give Connors a game FFS. The kid is class.

Great to see Cogs having a solid game.

3.3 to Collard. Super impressive. Commentators want him called up to Richmond.
Gus - 2 goals. quite a impressive game.

Connors 18k 14h 11m 1 goal. Commentators gave him BOG and said he won us the game.
Polo       15k 11h. Good across half-back.

You'd think now Coburg have secured their spot in the finals.

Cartledge dominated the ruck. Gave the burger midfielders first use of the footy.
Rance had a solid game in defence.

Burgers play Sandy next week at home.

Thanks for the updates MT, was going to pop up for the last half from work, but wasn't sounding to good at the time.
We have some good kids starting to come through, good to see Connors lift in the last half but to play senior footy you have to play 100% 100% of the time.
Very handy win by Coburg, should guarantee a finals spot.

Did the skunks do us a favour today and knock off werribee and if Ballarat can do Casey Sunday a vital top 4 spot may be within reach.

Silvester was the one who injured his hand in the second quarter and didn't return.

Commentators now talking about Rance and Polo being sensational in defence. Not just possessions but their spoils were crucial. JON didn't work in defence with the kick-ins so Polo was chucked back and it worked a treat. Polo had 10 disposals and 2 contested marks in the last quarter. The whole team had just 4 contested marks so Deano got half of them.

* Collard hadn't had much of a chance due to the 12/10 rule. 3 goal assists today and had a goal not paid. We'll see more of him from now on in the seniors.

* Coburg players Horne, Carnell, Liddle, Caruso all stood up in that last quarter.

* Real ugly affair but it's a good sign they were able to still get over the line against a good side like the Bullants.

* McErlain was in the top 5 players as far as the commentators go.

* Marks: 104 - 73 as Coburg had plenty of short passes.

He got 30+ touches, was BOG and got heaps of it when the game was on the line.

The kid is class. Get him in the senior side IMO. He is the type of player that will play better in a class team, and will make the like of Foley, Lids, Cotch look better.

Was rated top 10-20 in 06 strong draft.  :cheers

I'm a Connors fan and I thought he was stiff to be dropped a few weeks ago but don't forget he was dragged earlier on in the game today for not tackling an opponent he could/should have which gave away a easy goal to the Bullants. His start to the today's game was ordinary going by the commentary. That's what I guess CUB was getting at. Whatever Rawlings said over the phone obviously did the trick.

Connors moved really well yesterday which was pleasing.

He has been restricted in his movement lately and that didnt seem to be a problem yesterday.

Also find it interesting that Hadley was named in the best players by the Bullants. He only played the first half and got changed at the start of the third qtr. He was good in the first half but not that good.

For those that went on Saturday, how did Gus and Meyer go and do you think Collard will now keep his spot in the Coburg seniors for the rest of the year?

Match Report Vs. Northern Bullants
Written by Glenn Robertson
coburgtigers.com.au

In a pretty dismal weathered day the Coburg side ran out onto ABD Group Stadium looking for their ninth win of the season. They were equal on points with the Northern Bullants making it a very important game.

The first term saw neither side get on top, however the Burgers took a slender four point lead into the first change.

Coburg Tigers 3.2 (20)   Northern Bullants 2.4 (16)

Similar to the first term, neither side could get the break in the second quarter and it was pretty much goal for goal. Chris Hyde put in a fantastic performance, his finest this year, booting three goals from the midfield in a best on field display. Clayton Collard, playing only his third game of the year for the seniors also stood tall and kicked 3 majors for the Burgers, while Angus Graham again added a couple of goals.

There was nothing in it at the main break with the Burgers up by two points

Coburg Tigers 6.8 (44)   Northern Bullants 6.6 (42)

It was the Bullants who came out stronger in the third term as they made the most of their forward line opportunities booting four goals for the term. On the other hand Coburg struggled to kick truly, booting an inaccurate one goal five for the term. Both teams had their fair share of the ball but Northern took a handy fourteen point lead into the last break. Andrew Horne and Daniel Connors used the ball well all match and both stood out in the Tiger side.

Coburg Tigers 7.13 (55)   Northern Bullants 10.9 (69)

Although the Burgers were again inaccurate they controlled the final term kicking eleven scoring shots to the Bullants solitary goal and ran away with an eleven point victory. Cam Howat put in his best performance for the season and in a telling last quarter beat his opponent to the ball time and time again.

Dean Polo and Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls both starred playing through the midfield and set up many of the Burgers goals each quarter.

This week the Burgers face ninth place Sandringham again at ABD Group Stadium on Saturday in another important clash that could determine the last couple of final eight positions.

Coburg Tigers       3.2 6.8 7.13 11.20 (86)
Northern Bullants  2.4 6.6 10.9 11.9 (75)

Goal Kickers: C. Hyde 3, C. Collard 3, A. Graham 2, G. Tivendale, N. Caruso, D. Connors

Best Players: C. Hyde, C. Howat, D. Polo, J. Oakley-Nicholls, A. Horne, D. Connors

RESERVES

For the second week in a row the Burger reserves found themselves in a tight tussle for the four points, but again the boys found their strengths in the final term and pulled away with a ten point victory. The Bullants got out to a handy three goal lead early in the match, but the Burgers slowly pulled it back in, in a very entertaining match.

Nick Lynch was the standout for the Burgers booting six goals in a best on field display. He was very well supported by Matthew Vasilevski, Steve Foster and Glen Carrick.

Coburg Tigers       2.2 7.6 12.11 16.16 (112)
Northern Bullants 5.3  7.6  12.9 15.12 (102)

Goal Kickers: N. Lynch 6, M. Farrelly 2, F. Caruso 2, T. Dulic 2, S. Huy, N. Cattapan, D. Rayson, G. Carrick

Best Players: N. Lynch, M. Vasilevski, G. Carrick, S. Foster, J. Morgan, M. Farrelly
