Walker Injured
« on: January 25, 2009, 12:36:28 PM »
Surley we cant lose this game now, Warnock, Stevens and now Walker out of the side, we will go in perhaps without Cotch but we should still bring home the bacon and by a pretty good margin one would think!!!

Carlton's Walker injures shoulder at training

Andrew Walker has had scans after injuring his shoulder

Carlton's Walker injures shoulder at training
Andrew Walker injured his right shoulder during training at Visy Park on Friday. Walker had scans on the shoulder on Friday afternoon and will meet with Carlton’s medical team and his surgeon early next week to review the extent of damage and plan the appropriate course of rehabilitation.  Although the injury is to the same shoulder that kept Walker out of the first fifteen matches in 2008, it is not a recurrence of the same injury. Walker, 22, has played 81 games for the Blues since his debut in Round 5, 2004.

You can't take anything for granted. If we go into the game thinking they are understrength and we just have to turn up then we'll lose. Last year we seemed to put in absolute shockers when the opposition had one of their best missing. We beat them with Judd in round 1 and then lost to them with Judd missing in our centenary game :scream. The player they will miss the most of the three is Stevens. Walker is decent but he isn't the gun Blues fans make out. We also don't know until he gets the scan results back how bad his shoulder is. If Walker needs surgery then he's gone for the year apparently but if it doesn't need surgery then it'll be a 6-8 week rest period and he'll still be a chance for round 1.

There's also still the chance (touchwood it doesn't happen :pray) that one of our main guns gets injured during the preseason. Until the teams are finalised before round 1 nothing is certain.

I don't rate Warnock or Walker overly much.

Stevens is unaccountable as a midfielder.

With their decent middle and Fev I still reckon it will be a lineball game.
