Who is the more valuable player for us: Foley or Deledio?

Going by his top 50 Mike has Lids ahead of Foley in his ranking of the Tigers.

Who do you think is the more valuable player for us structure wise?

Hmmm, I reckon they're about neck and neck at the moment.

But Lids should go past Foley this year in the MVP stakes.

Not much in it......although I think foley might not get much better and Lids has more up side to his game.

This is a tough question....Its a bit like asking who would you rather go on a date with- Lara Bingle or Miranda Kerr. :lol

Lids without question.  Lids is almost the perfect package and can play anywhere while Axel is only really suited to a midfield role.

the fact that it is a matter of debate is a compliment to Foley

True. Not bad for someone off the rookie list  :thumbsup.

Lids is more talented and versatile as others have said but I would still have Foley just slightly ahead on output so far in their respective careers and winning the hardball at stoppages. I know Lids has a B&F and Foley doesn't but Axel was stiff not to win one the year before when he got pipped by Richo in round 22 after leading the count all year and he's performed at a high level for longer than Lids has. 2008 was Lids' breakout year.

Lids will probably pass Axel in the next year or two though as he has the potential to go to an ultra-elite level. He's still only 21 (turns 22 in April).

Ditto

If Foley gets shut down in midfield that's only where he can play Lids can play in the midfield off half back or in the forward line.

Furthermore Lids is a great overhead mark and his skills are precise whereas Foley's kicks tend to wobble slightly and aren't as accurate.

To me Lids is well in front but Axel is still an integral part of our side. Both still have a long way to go before they can be classified as elite. Just at the very good stage right now and both still have heaps of improvement left in them.

Lids by far.

more versatile can play just about anywhere.

Will win a Brownlow i think but is still no where near elite.

Lids by a fair margin for mine

Mainly for this reason:

Lids without question.  Lids is almost the perfect package and can play anywhere while Axel is only really suited to a midfield role.
