Tiger Playing List 2010 (List Management)
« on: May 22, 2009, 01:55:22 PM »
The following list must be taken on the Kokoda trail and find some soul and unity within themselves. They must bond and grow to know each other better.

1. Newman
2. Thursfield
3. Deledio
4. Raines
6. Polak
8. Riewoldt
9. Cotchin
10. Edwards
12. Richardson
14. Polo
15. Pettifer
16. McGuane
18. Rance
19. Putt
20. Morton
21. Tuck
23. Jackson
24. Coughlan
26. Pattison
27. Hislop
29. Vickery
30. Tambling
31. Thompson
32. Cousins
34. Hughes
36. White
37. Post
38. Nahas
39. Connors
40. Moore
41. Foley
42. Collins
43. Graham

33 Players retained on the list, plus Nahas which would be 34 players

Retires:
Joel Bowden (If he wants to stay he might be lucky but I'd say he'd want to retire.)

Retire/Delist:
Johnson
Simmonds
Brown

Delist/Trade (If anyone wants them)
Schultz
King
Oakley Nicholls
McMahon

2010 must be year of improvement:

Hughes
Edwards
Putt
Polak
Thompson
Hislop
Thursfield
Connors

Throghout the media the list is horribly underrated. Soon as the Cloggers leave and some possible high draft picks to add we should be fairly strong

B: Newman Thursfield Polo
HB Raines Moore McGuane
C: Cotchin Deledio Tambling
HF: Cousins Riewoldt Richardson
F: Nahas Vickery Morton

R: Graham Foley Coughlan

Int: Pattison Tuck Collins White

To me that is honestly a great side. Shame injuries will always hurt. I can't understand why players like Schultz have being given many oppurtunities aswell as JON and Vickery hasn't had a chance. Same with Pattison for mine thought the one game he played he was very very good.

Another thing having a look at the list we have only had 3 debutants since 2007..

2008 Cotchin
2009 Rance
2009 Collins

With Vikory, Post and Putt the only players on the list without a debut.

Just shows that possibly the club has done the right thing and played a range of players but just don't have the right mix. Tough decisions have to be made and weed out the ones that wont be part of a premiership unfortunatly.

Name the last player Richmond has off loaded that you were upset at losing.

The only one I can think of is Stuart Maxfield.

Gotta make the hard decisions. Look at Geelong ridding players like Moloney, Prismal, King all good players but just are clogging up the list.

Maybe some hard deciosn need to be made to players that are above 26 such as Pettifer, Newman, Tuck.

Time will tell.

Delist/Trade (If anyone wants them)

McMahon

Well unless someone wants him as a trade, I reckon Jordie will be a the RFC in 2010 - it's the final year of his contract  ;D

As a list manager would you keep Jordie?

can't break into a side that is 1-7.

No I wouldn't but as list manager I also know that unless we are able to trade him we are stuck with him because he has a rather large contract that will be included in our salary cap whether he is there or not and because of it we are more likely to keep him

I wonder if GC would take a package of players for a top ten draft pick (McMahon+Raines+JON)

JON has the decision making of a 10 year old.

Just not AFL standard if we had an old list you'd keep JON for being young but we have plenty of younger players we're in a position to rid him without wasting years waiting for him to come good.

Either way Pettifer is probably in teh same boat but I've been impressed with his work rate from his knee reco. Worth another shot where as JON has not showed anything at all. Pettifer can play a good game here and there.

That comment there is the problem. we want performers each week. A good game here & there any level footballer can give. Thats were the game plan breaks down when the performers are inconsistant. you like mediocrisy  :lol all players must be at AFL standard to win games & win flags

Browne also made his debut this year as well as Nahas. We've had so few debutants recently because we've only had 5 picks in the past 2 National drafts  :-\.

Kingy and Sarge as well as McMahon are all contracted until next year  :P. Trade value of all 3 would be zero. To think we could've got a 2nd round pick for Sarge 2 years ago yet traded one away for Jordie  :scream.

Retirees:
Bowden
Johnson
Simmonds

Delist/Trade
Oakley-Nicholls (can we get anything for him  :-\ )
Polak - sad
Pettifer
Silvester

Offer up as trade for anything. If some club offers pick 1828811693002 for either of them then grab it. You no longer have to use the pick you receive in a trade. Just do it to free up a spot on our list so we can use another draft pick.
King (reality is no chance anyone would want him even for free)
Schulz (maybe a slight chance some club would take him off us for 'free' (late pick) as he's a tall and still only 23)

If we can offload Sarge in a trade then that allows us 6 picks (6 ND or 5 ND & 1 PSD) + 3 new rookies. Wait until round 22 to cut deeper.

Promoting Nahas would reduce our number of selections. With only one veteran next year (Richo) we will be allowed to nominate a rookie to be promoted before round 1, 2010 without anyone needing to be on the LTIL.
