Ralph Malph said on twatter (yes I know) that he still intends to play on Sunday...... :shh

If it is it is. He has served us well.

He should have no regrets if he pulls the pin.

This, or he's still struggling re: his dad.

I would think this ^

Losing a parent is bloody tough; especially losing the one that has been the biggest single influence in your life (speaking from experience here)

I remember Ma Powell saying that it isn't the first 3 or so months that are the toughest when you lose someone but the 3 or so months after are. She said it was then the phone stopped ringing and you actually got to stop that it really hit you. She said that's how it was for her when my Dad passed away

Personally I never understood it until Ma Powell passed away and it happened to me too. Even though I had my significant other to support me out of nowhere the pain really hit me about 3-4 months after she passed.

He can play until he 36 or 37 thats another 6 or 7 million bucks he will earn on field not including off field endirsements. If he is struggling mentally give him 12 months off hopefully he comes back rejuvenated. And people writing him off at 30 as a player have no idea the man is star he'll come back strong. We just need a few blokes to fly the flag with him and not chuck it in like they did last week.

This! (Well said by the way WP)

Dusty losing his dad while overseas in NZ would add another layer. Dusty would've loved to have played a Grand Final with his dad watching at the ground.

Well said WP, research shows grief can't properly be unpacked until 12 months after the traumatic event of losing a loved one. It's way bigger than any type of injury. Feel for our great Dusty, take all the time you need legend and get all the support you need.

Losing his father has clearly impacted on him and will continue to impact on him. He was close to his father and his father has only very recently passed. He deserves to time to grieve. Everyone grieves differently.  It is a horrible experience to go through(Like probably many on this site I know this from personal experience).

It would be nice if some others actually dug in and delivered in his absence like he did many times for them.

All this speculation about Dusty. I thought we weren’t allowed to speculate or ask a simple question without getting accused of spreading rumours :shh

Maybe it’s ok to speculate now   :rollin

Can I ask a question too?

FWIW Tom Browne just said he asked the Club tonight if Dusty will play on the weekend and not surprisingly the Club replied they don't know.

After what Dusty has achieved and the threat of losing a kidney, plus the fact that he has maybe 1-2 years left, I get it.
There is a long life after footy.

Best wishes to him whatever he chooses.

While down last week he was still our most potent offensive mid and probably the only mid who racked up some decent stats.
