Then Kane Cornes pipes up with “Dusty owes it to the game to speak” when coming back from time off earlier this year.
Be consistent Kane, the AFL media - whoever it is - owe the AFL more than the players in how the cover the game. If this is years old, it’s a disgrace that it’s being release of the day of a final.
Talk about putting the game into disrepute
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Reckon the bigger offense is filming a naked woman and distribution without consent. Herald Sun should be liable. What if this woman's family didn't know she did this line of work. Or her friends or her daytime boss. Disgraceful.

I will say that whilst this isn't the same as De Goey, who gripped a woman in a public nightclub, it's not something that is allowed in majority of strip clubs and he probably shouldn't have done it. But without context, he may have paid for a 10k lappy and had the works 5 minutes before, or the strip joint may allow friendly touching, it's hard to judge too much.

It's just a disgrace this stuff comes out on eve of a final.

I dated a former stripper for a couple of years and she said there was no touching allowed, period, and the security were around non-stop to remove anyone that didn't follow that rule.

In QLD, there is only one place you can't touch. Rules are very relaxed in the Sunshine state.

At this rate we will be outlawing the male erection right on schedule by 2035. After that, spontaneity by 2050; fun by 2060; and we will be living emotionless in the 2002 film Equilibrium by 2099, ready to usher in a new century of absolutely nothing. But, by God, will it be politically correct!
:lol
This sounds like some sort of thought or idea or God forbid, an opinion!

As one of the great current modern thinkers of today once articulated so eloquently,

Dusty Martin scandal is ‘AFL’s worst nightmare’ before finals

AFL legends have dropped a truth bomb as the football world reels from the scandal surrounding Tigers star Dustin Martin.

Footy legend Garry Lyon says the video scandal surrounding Dustin Martin is the AFL’s “worst nightmare” just hours away from the start of the 2022 Finals Series.

Lyon and fellow SEN Breakfast host Tim Watson on Thursday morning said Martin’s apparent behaviour in the video is “unacceptable”.

The scandal is playing out on the same day Martin is making his comeback for the Tigers in a blockbuster elimination final against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Thursday night.

Lyon said it is a “disaster” for the AFL.

“That would be, for all sorts of the reasons, the AFL’s worst nightmare on the launch of this finals series,” Lyon said.

“From a behaviour point of view, to the focus that they want, to the circus this will be unfolding now in Brisbane with Dusty returning to footy having been out for a long, long time. Now, like it or not, this is going to be the focus.

“Timing-wise, not that that matters, it’s a disaster for the AFL.”

Lyon said the video could potentially see the AFL respond in a similar fashion to the way the league handled Collingwood star Jordan De Goey’s Bali nightclub video scandal where he was seen appearing to expose a woman’s breast.

“I don’t know what to say to this other than you are responsible for your own actions,” he said

“That was the thing from Jordan’s perspective, unsolicited touching, whether you knew them or not, is not acceptable. That is why it will be an issue and that is why it will be a story that continues to rage throughout the day.”

Essendon legend Watson also said: “There’s no place in the world where that behaviour is acceptable. It’s never ever right, no matter what the circumstance, to grab someone on the breast.”

Lyon earlier this year slammed De Goey for “entitled behaviour that’s not acceptable in any way, shape or form”.

The Collingwood star was ultimately issued a $25,000 suspended fine by his football club, but also had a rich contract offer taken off the table.

Apparently 2017 probably a premiership celebration.

Honestly who are the lowlifes that hang onto this for a rainy day ffs.
It's from 2015. A couple of people on twitter saying it was a private function (possibly a bucks party?) at the Sporting Globe in Richmond.

Richmond sources have confirmed that the footage was from 2015. Martin was either 23 or 24 at the time, depending on when it occurred, and in his sixth season, and the club’s view is that it is a poor look.

Martin has not publicly acknowledged the video, which may have been circulating for years and was publicised by media outlets on Wednesday night and Thursday.

Sources said the club was not aware of the incident or the footage until it surfaced on social media on Wednesday.

An AFL spokesperson said it became aware of the video posted on social media and was seeking further information.

The expectation is that Martin will not be spoken to by the AFL about the incident until after the elimination final on Thursday night against the Brisbane Lions.

Sam McClure on twitter:

Dustin Martin, who might be the greatest player ever, facing criticism for an incident that was 6 years ago at a private function because someone felt special spreading a video.

No wonder he’s sick of living in Melbourne.

You get a lot of this these days: It's a scandal if everyone says it is, or, more to the point, is concerned that someone else thinks it's a scandal. Actually, it's just the infestation of 'optics' in a post-marketing world--a worry about how things look to other people rather than going through the exhausting cerebral effort of making up your own mind about something.

How many of us reading this and how many of those bleating scandal were conceived without male hands making contact with female breasts?

And on that point, how do they know it is 'groping'? 'Groping' is a subjective judgement, not a fact of reality. It's an interpretation. Or is all sensual behaviour considered groping these days? There's no context to the footage, just ungenerous assumptions.

Western society has lost the plot. The Inquisition, the Prohibition--they're baaaaaa-aaack!

Spot on mate, we are told what to be offended about, what is or isn’t appropriate and a range of other emotions without the right to consider the issue ourselves. What is inappropriate is some goose videoing an incident at a private / mens function and airing it several years later. If the female in question is not offended then there is nothing to apologise for. The context and environment is all that needs to be considered. It wasn’t like he was at a night club (De Goey).
