Stats are fairly even. 22 inside 50s each and tackles 32-35. We've had slightly more of the ball due to our handballing. Essendon leading the hitouts 27-12 but we seem to be the cleaner clearances.

No coincidence we are doing better when Cotch (b.o.g.), Lids and Dusty are 3 of our top 4 ballgetters with Foley in there as well.

Postie has done his job taking Fletcher out of the play. The 3 talls up forward are troubling Essendon and forcing them to go small up in their forward line except for a ruckman (Hille or Ryder resting). If they move Hurley forward to try and give themselves a tall target then that may expose their own defence.

Of the newbies Helbig has done well for a kid who has played just a handful of games. Batch getting a fair bit of it defensive side of centre as well.

We need to maintain our intensity and make the most of our chances in front of goal.

What a difference a mobile ruck can make. Good to see Vickery sticking it up all his critics. He'll be good for us for a long long time.
