Highlights package of Harper does look good but i remember looking at highlights of Oakley-Nicholls and they were impressive as well. From what i have heard i would rather take one of the genuine midfielders (Heppell, Caddy, Polec, Gaff) than take a chance on a kid like Harper. If he was somehow available for our second pick i would snap him up but i guess the chances of that are very little.
Funny, I don't remember JONs highlights ever looking that good. I remember the brief ones I saw were edited before you saw where the ball ended up. They looked like they were all about to go down the throat on an opponent.

Harper is the man. Genuine match winner like Didak and we dont have a player like him on the list.

Can't dispute he's a first round draft pick, so use it on him FJ.

Should be pushing 82-83kgs by the start of the 2011 season, just needs to build a tank. Quick, good off both feet and can kick 60m. stuffing perfect.

Harps also missed rounds 4-12 for Eastern so not sure what the deal was there. Injured? School footy?

Pretty good volleyballer, I'd say that's where he gets his leap, which is elite.
Great at smothering kicks and handballs then retrieving his own crumbs.
Loves to dump blokes in the tackle - gives away some unnecessary free kicks.
Gets caught a bit with the footy, but always trying to move the ball on quickly to advantage.
Very neat and accurate set shot and excellent on the run from outside 50.

Actually reminds me a bit of Lids but not as quick and not as good a kick, but then he's not going pick #1 is he.

I would take Josh Caddy.

Tough inside midfielder who will win the contested football!

That is who Richmond need!

If Gaff is available, take Gaff, if not, Caddy is our man!

Caddy, head over football.

Vote 1 Joshua Caddy.

I reckon he's worth a first round pick. Ours is #6. I'm no expert but i'm an expert at pumping up some random bloke's tyres every year and this year it's Harps :lol
He's got flaws no doubt about it but everyone outside of David Swallow does.
Blokes like Boak & Hill prove that you can reach for a player and nail it.
I say go for it.

What we dont need is another inside mid with questionable footskills like Caddy.

Can he play midfield or Half back?

You'd think over time he'd build up enough of an engine to play midfield after his first few years as a half forward flank. Not sure why you'd want him to play down back, we have enough half back flankers as it is.

True Infamy. I just keep thinking we can upgrade on Connors, unless he improves his decision making.  ;D

From what i understand caddy kicks goals And is a very handy forward pocket type, as well as inside mid

I would take Josh Caddy.

I think we have bigger issues than upgrading Connors

wasting the ball because you blaze away without thinking off half back is an big issue. If the kid can slot along side Delideo and show the same class that's worth pick 6 to me.

You want Dyson Heppell then Al, he's the Goddard/Deledio HBF prototype.

Harps played midfield for Eastern this year.
