Just saw highlights of Polec on You Tube in Finals played against Glenelg and Norwood. He was very very good especially against Norwood.

There also was a clip of him from the U/18 champs, but the AFL in their infinate wisdom put a copyright claim in. It seems they dont care about making the game available to as many people as possible.

It was interesting that Polecs disposal efficiency was better in the senior SAFL games than the U/18 game shown.
I wonder if that is due to playing in a better structured side at the higher level?

another clip from the AFL site.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/102361/default.aspx#embedvideoplayer.

In this one his disposal looks effective as well, it's different to the one the AFL had removed from youtube. He may just of had a bad day in that one.

thanks al
Yeah I would be happy with Polec or Atley to be honest.  If Polec falls into our hands, nice, but I am always wary of the go home BS thats been going on more and more lately.

From Paul Daffy's livechat on the AFL website:

hey paul who do you think richmond will be targetting at pick 6?

Paul Daffey:
Hi Guest,
I suspect it's Woodville-West Torrens wingman Jared Polec. He's fast, elusive, and finishes beautifully on his left foot. Richmond are not quite over their dud-kicking days yet.

Fox Sports site has a guide to each club's 'needs' in the draft:

RICHMOND
Selections: 6, 30, 47, 51, 64, 81, 98, 115, 132
What they need: The Tigers cleverly bolstered their midfield with the acquisition of Carlton's Shaun Grigg. He can play and will get more opportunities at Punt Road than he was afforded at the Blues in 2010. Essendon's Bachar Houli is also a possibility to cross to the Tigers. Adding that pair will allow Damien Hardwick to work on securing a solid big backman and foil for Jack Riewoldt in attack. Former Demon Brad Miller is a chance to fill the latter position. Angus Graham took steps forward this year but the ruck stocks could be strengthened with pick No.30.
Fits the bill: It's 'best possible' for Richmond with selection No.6 and that is shaping as Jared Polec. The South Australian is a strong and skilled midfielder with pace to burn. The ruck quandary should be sorted with their second choice, No.30. Daniel Gorringe and Scott Lycett, the two best-credentialed big boys, will be gone by then so Leif Cope shapes as a possible option. His mobility and ability to win the ball on the ground appeals as much as his ruckwork.

Polec is too bloody skinny another skinny flanker in the making. Just about all the press are gunning for this guy to go to Richmond, I say leave this skinny flanker for Essendon, we want Atley got a bit of beef on him, or Heppel

I'll take a skinny kid who can perform amongst the men and still has to grow into his body over an early developer who is basically a mature body carving it up against mainly skinny kids. (not a reference to Atley but a general statement)

Totally understand where your comming from, from that perspective but personally I wouldn't pick Polec, I'd pick the stronger more skilled player.

I think Richmond will draft Polec next week.

But if West Coast draft Jack Darling at Pick 4, Heppell or Gaff will be the choice between.

Not convinced about Polec because of his weight, however I did watch Polec live at AAMI when West Torrens defeated Glenelg and I was impressed with his pace and long left foot kick.

His highlights reel from both SANFL finals were pretty decent.  Not that you can place too much stock in just highlight reels, but he showed a fair bit against senior bodies.

I dont understand this issue about Poleks weight. According to my reference he is 81kgs and 188cm. He only needs to put on 4 or 5 kgs and end up at 85/86kg which is a good weight for an outside mid or wingman.
