Caro in today's Age...

The Tigers are understood to be in the middle of delicate negotiations with a new major sponsor and have not ruled out selling the naming rights to the club's iconic home ground.

Notice in the training video of yesterday's session that we have Signet signs around the ground now.

A new sponsor?

Signet is our new sleeve sponsor

BF saying the sleeve sponsor is a packaging products company with HQ outside of Victoria.

What's a sleeve sponsor. Sounds pretty crappy since most footy jumpers don't have sleeves.

Sleeves on the Team Polos - like Auslab did for a couple seasons

Cheers WP. Doesn't sound like that's worth all that much.

Certainly not a major but still some good coin

I notice on the corporate page they've added some new companies as "Club Providers"

Boots = Blades
Footwear = Brooks (that would be runners etc)
Compression = Skins

See:

Slowly but surely the sponsorship/corporate partnership stuff is coming together IMHO

We had to wait until Feb last time being Luxbet signed up so it's not the first time we've had to wait a long time to find a new major sponsor. This year we have to find two new major sponsors  :-\.

Or just one really big one like what the Bombers have Samsung, Saints with Jeldwen, Roos with Mazda or the Doggies with Mission (though you'd hope we'd do better than the Doggies with Mission ;D)

... or the Roos with Mazda. I believe that's not a very big sponsorship compared with others.

No on the contrary - it isn't too bad (about $1.9-2.0 mil chutney tells me ;D) which is more than the the doggies

I know I read on here somewhere that Mazda & Roos was about $400-500k - it's certainly much more than that

 ;D Well that sounds like a huge waste of money for Mazda then.

No major sponsorship announement at the AGM last night

However, Gary March said that there would be announcementS regarding major sponsors in the next few weeks

My gut feel is they are very close if not over the line and we are just waiting for the good time to announce. Benny Gale was on SEN yesterday or it might have been Wednesday and said that with Xmas they didn't want it to get lost or overlooked by the media or members

And no they gave no hint as to who they are

One thing they did say again was Dick Smith had committed to the club as a the major supporter of our Indeginous Institute and Indeginous programs in the NT and that Luxbet.com was staying involved

Oops forgot this bit - they siad last night that our total sponsorship levels have increased IIRC 28% over the last years and in 2010 it increased 6.9% - that's bloody good IMHO
