Um.... urgh.... I think we should trade Jack Riewoldt........

...... He doesn't do enough.

He was part of the 2006 draft that yeilded Collins, Conners, Edwards and King.

Who was in charge of recruiting that year?

 :thumbsup

Kings Dad?

Jack is lazy & could use some more of his energy every week by helping put preasure on the defenders.

Monk seeing Jack over the last few weeks, just wondering what your own words taste like?

Jack Rivals Richo

An interesting statistical indicator of just how well Jack Riewoldt is performing this year is the fact that throughout Matthew Richardson’s entire career at Richmond, only once did he have more goals on the board at the halfway mark of the home-and-away season than the rising Tiger star forward has now.

Riewoldt’s six-goal haul in the Tigers’ loss to St Kilda at Etihad Stadium last Friday night, took his season’s tally after 11 rounds to 35, and puts him in equal fourth place overall on the AFL’s goalkicking table.

He has been the leading goalkicker in the competition over the past six rounds, with 25 goals, ahead of Brendan Fevola (22), Matthew Pavlich (20), Steve Johnson (19), Barry Hall (18) and Josh Kennedy (18).

You have to go all the way back to 1996 to find the only time Matthew Richardson had scored more goals than Riewoldt at the corresponding stage of the season.

Midway through the ’96 season, ‘Richo’ had booted 44 goals, on his way to a career-high 91 for the year.

In no other season, however, did Richo manage to register as many goals as Riewoldt now has at the halfway mark of the 2010 home-and-away rounds.

Riewoldt also managed to write his name in the record books, with his effort against the Saints last Friday night, along with teammate Andrew Collins.

The pair kicked all of Richmond’s eight goals for the match (six to Riewoldt and two from Collins), which is the most Tiger team goals scored by just two goalkickers since Jack Titus and Laird Smith in 1941.

Titus kicked five goals and Smith booted three, in the Tigers’ losing total of 8.13 against Melbourne’s 14.24 in Round 11 of the 1941 season.

lol miller didnt think riewoldt would last to pick 8 so down traded it to pick 13 and gave up  pick 42  for  that champion polak sheesh. they effectively gave up any chance of getting riewoldt by trading out of a top 10 pick. just goes to show how inept those in charge were. its ironic miller and jackson survived on luck and got lucky with jack slipping.
many of us had him top 10  some as low as pick 5. in fact miller rated him but effectively threw away any chance of getting him in his mind. and why to get an underperforming glass half full in polak.
the rfc and its supporters can thank its lucky stars on lady luck because jack sure as hell didnt arrive due to good management.

Same BS and absolute codswallop on two boards now.  Jackson and Miller had ample evidence that Jack would slip to 13.  They laid it out in full at the 2006 pre-draft night.  Give up with your tired ignorant rants.

Not how I remember it at all Claw.  When he was taken at 13 most thought he was over priced and probably only worth a 2nd round pick at best.  Much too slow for AFL was the biggest knock if I recall.  It might hurt to acknowledge it but it appears they (Miller and Jackson) got this one dead right.

Richo lauds young Jack
ADAM SMITH
June 09, 2010

RICHMOND favourite son Matthew Richardson believes his in-form former teammate Jack Riewoldt is now an on-field leader.

Riewoldt has been a revelation in the past month, booting 20 goals to rocket to equal fourth in the Coleman Medal race with 35 even though the Tigers have won just one match for the season.

He snagged six in an impressive showing against St Kilda last Friday night - looking every part the No. 1 target the club has been crying out for since Richardson retired from the game.

Richardson, who was yesterday elevated to legend status in the Tasmanian Hall of Fame, is confident his fellow Tasmanian is piecing together his game to become a future leader at Punt Rd.

"Jack has been fantastic, these last five weeks he has been the in-form key forward in the competition in a team that is not scoring heavily and losing," Richardson said.

"He has improved out of sight, he has taken that No. 1 forward role at the club, last year he basically had that forward-line burden and he has gradually got used to it and this year he has been outstanding.

"There is still a lot of room for improvement in his game, he is only 21 and he has a big future in front of him.

"He is going to be a leader, he is great around the changerooms and out on the ground he is very vibrant."
