Tigers won't Jack up
By Paul Daffey
Fri 31 Aug, 2012

RICHMOND coach Damien Hardwick says full-forward Jack Riewoldt will receive no special favours from teammates against Port Adelaide at the MCG on Sunday, despite the fact that he's in a neck-and-neck race for the Coleman Medal.

Fremantle's Matthew Pavlich, with 60 goals, heads the Coleman Medal table going into this weekend's final round.

Riewoldt has 59 goals and Geelong key forward Tom Hawkins has 58.

"It’s one of those things," Hardwick said.

"If he wins it, he wins it. It's not something we're worried about.

"We’re just interested in finishing the season on a good note, and getting the four points.

He could win the Coleman and not finish in the top 5 of our B&F.  I bet everyone else in the top 5 of the Coleman will finish in the top 5 of their clubs B&F. Have we underrated Jacks year?

Nope.. He's been disappointing and if he wins the Coleman it will only be because Buddy went down and Pav mightn't play this week.

If he had converted more opportunities he would have blitzed the Coleman and rated his year!

I totally agree. Unless he has been playing with periodic injuries there have been games when he has been woeful. I think we have been close to the top of the leaderboard in regards to I50's for the year - so there are no excuses.

Man have you seen those inside 50's long bombs to about 30 players.

Maybe if he does win the Coleman maybe we can start a petition to have it taken off hm because he hasnt lived up to our standards.

Trade him for Buddy now.

If buddy is still there at Pick 4 we should pounce. Has more upside than Tambling and had the body size and ability to become an elite forward..... ::)

At 1/4 time last night it looked like Buddy was going to end up with 10+ goals and pinch the Coleman. Thankfully he didn't kick another so one less Jack has to worry about. If Jack is good enough to win it on Sunday then he deserves it. Averaging 3 goals per game for a key forward isn't terrible. Richo only kicked more than mid-60 goals in a season once (91 in 1996) and his next highest was 67. The big fella only kicked more than 60 goals 4 times yet he has about a dozen club top goalkicker awards. Of course Jack can play better than he has this year but it doesn't say much for the rest in the Coleman race that over a season they still can't beat his output despite his troubles with inaccuracy this year and him not leading enough at the ball when he should've.

Yeah but Richo normally missed 5 games a season. Riewoldt never misses a game and he's our only target in the air ;D 3 goals a game is very good. It'd just be nice if he played with the same attitude every week. His game last week was great I thought.
