Foxsports also has Martyn as a "big ball-winner" (at VFL level) that has struggled for consistent stints in their respective AFL sides this season and could be attractive propositions for rival clubs.

Will Martyn (Richmond)

A ball magnet as a junior, the Tigers have always had high hopes for Martyn, who’s out of contract at season’s end. The 20-year-old has played nine games for Richmond’s VFL side this season, averaging 25.1 disposals, 6.4 tackles and 4.3 clearances to be a key member of the team’s on-ball brigade. He cracked into the AFL side twice this year, but managed just four disposals on debut before being an unused medical sub six weeks later. Tigers fans might see him at AFL level over the coming weeks.

Better than the low bar that his debut and definitely has a crack but didn't really see anything to change my mind that he;s not really up to it at AFL level... :shh

I'd give him another year. The last two years since he was drafted have been crap for development.

What did we all think of Will's game yesterday?

14 disposals (10k, 4h, 4c, 10u, 64.3% eff.)
5 marks
2 tackles
2 clearances
2 inside 50s
169m gained
1 intercept
1 score involvement
77% time on ground.

He looks like a nice kick but isn't.  He really needs to work hard on his decision making by foot.

Hard to be disappointed with his development given the last 2 years. Looks like he could be a handy inside mid for the future.

We now know why Will hasn't been seen at preseason training. He's apparently got Glandular Fever.

Glandular Fever can really screw up your footy career. Granted a long time ago but I knew a Richmond U19s player who missed two years of footy due to Glandular Fever. Ended his dreams of the big time before it began.

Ben Lennon was another who had a mild case of Glandular Fever.
