That's shocking for him and his family

When was he diagnosed?

Only recently - being this quick I'd say pancreatic cancer if i was to hazard a guess....

How does this impact our recruiting strategy?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Apologies to Dio for removing his post earlier

But at that time it was not confirmed and all references to it on twitter had been removed

Tom Morris obviously decided to show some respect to The Toce family and removed his tweet until the club chose to announce it

RIP Chris

Horrible for him and his family + friends.

As a recent hire I wasn't overly familiar with his role?

Quite possible, or bowel. Of all the cancers I know intimately, pancreatic is always the one that becomes symptomatic when it's very late in the day. Everything else is noticeable when you have several months or years. Pancreatic is often 6-12 weeks.

Horrible at his age. He was entering a recruiters dream as well with all those early picks coming our way.
There for the grace of god and all that.Make the most of the time you have on this earth because at age 42 or 92 it is a short time.

He did a power of work for us going into this draft so in a way it is his draft. Lets hope it is a brilliant one just for Chris, maybe we can then call it the Toce dynasty or something like that.

Some incredibly generous donations to support the family of Chris Toce, including from @Richmond_FC President John O’Rourke ($50,000).

The target was 25k and it’s almost hit 100k.
