Richmond's joy at winning only its second game of the 2007 AFL season on Friday night has proven to be short-lived with the Tigers facing a severe ruck shortage for this week's daunting trip to Perth to take on reigning premiers West Coast.
The Tigers have lost young ruckman Angus Graham for the rest of the season with a fractured right ankle while number one ruckman Troy Simmonds is no certainty to return from a mystery virus that caused his hospitalisation last week.
And with Trent Knobel having been out all season with an ankle season, the Tigers could be solely reliant on youngster Adam Pattison against arguably the AFL's best big man in Dean Cox and his more than handy back-up Mark Seaby.
Graham injured his ankle during Friday night's win over Collingwood, in what was only his second AFL game, and will have surgery this week.
Meanwhile Simmonds will still be unavailable to train in the early part of this week as he continues his recovery making it unlikely he will have recovered sufficiently to make the long trip west this week.
