Make that 10 times from 17 games. 4th best this year in the AFL.

2004:  0 - Spud's last year
2005:  6 - Plough's first year
2006:  4
2007:  3
2008:  10*  (from 17 games)

The AFL’s complete century scorers’ list for 2008 is:

13 – Geelong, Western Bulldogs
11 – Hawthorn
10 – Richmond
9 – Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood
8 – Sydney
7 – Essendon, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide
6 – Adelaide, St Kilda
5 – Fremantle
2 – West Coast
1 – Melbourne

Excellent, right behind the top 3 teams in the competition.  :thumbsup  :clapping

Now all we need is for our inexperienced, young defence to further mature, which will come, to stop the leakage at that end and we're on the right track.  :cheers

I think the defence is doing a pretty good job under immense pressure.
It's the midfield that needs to give them a hand stopping the quick entry that's impossible to beat as a defender

as l said before our team needs to score 18-20 goals min to win games, 16 goals just aint enough in modern day football

I do agree for a young backline they're doing a terrific job for where they are in their development.

We do need a bit more defensive intensity from the mids but I see that rising as well.  :thumbsup

They'll get there, but with such a young backline they're going to make mistakes, just as long as they all learn from it.  :thumbsup

Agree infamy. It's when we've been smashed out of the centre or turnover the footy something chronically through dumb play that we leak like a seive. Did it again against Brisbane in the first 15 minutes of the 3rd quarter, and the Bombers, and the Dees, and Adelaide, and Geelong  :P. The problem in those bad quarters occurs at the centre bounces and in the midfield. Hopefully with more maturity and more depth in the next few years as others come through like Connors we can get a more even and consistent effort out of our midfield.

We ended up with 12 times reaching 16 goals this year and when we scored 100 points or more this year we had a 11-1-1 record. 5th highest scoring team too. Need to work on our defensive efforts all over the park though. Every time we kept the opposition to below 100 we won but we only did that 8 times.

I don't remember us getting taken apart by a tall forward all year though

With a stronger midfield we will reduce the goals kicked by opposition midfielders
Plus we need a small defender who can stop us getting cut up by the goal sneaks

This years top 4 Average goals per game

Geelong 17.8
Hawks 16.1
Bulldogs 16.9
Saints 14.0

Tigers 15.0

Yep right again Mr expert

Thinking Infamy is a bit closer the mark.

Cogs to come back and Cothin with a preseason should help in the middle department.
Small defender would be good too, rodents like Milne allways have a field day on us ....

Going by our list of goalkickers this year we still don't get enough goals out of our midfielders and we're still heavily reliant on Richo. We also haven't yet cracked the ton this year and have the second lowest "for" tally. On the positive side Pettifer is continuing on from  last year and Paddy, Simmo and Tivs are chipping in up forward.

1. Matthew Richardson     12
2. Kayne Pettifer               7
3. Patrick Bowden             7
4. Troy Simmonds            5
5. Greg Tivendale        4
6. Daniel Jackson              4
7. Chris Hyde               3
8. Greg Stafford                3
9. Shane Tuck                3
10. Andrew Krakouer          2
11. Brett Deledio            2
12. Richard  Tambling     2
13. Kane Johnson           2
14. Nathan Foley            1
15. Nathan Brown            1

Its good than in 2 years our forward line now does not have Richo. IMO he needs to play the rest of his carrer in is floating wing role and allow the forward line to develop. He is still prone to kicking bags of goals when playing in midfield and resting forward/back.

We kicked some large scores this year, and fond some new goal kickers.

Without a star young forward we are going to have to kick goals from blokes like: Brown, Reiwoldt, Morton, Connors. And goal kicking midfeilders: Deledio, Cotchin, Tambling, Edwards, Whte etc.

Collard isabit of a wildcard.
