i cant help but wish we played more like them.

Win or lose against the cats i dont care, i love the fact they have players like Steele Sidebottom laying 10 tackles last night. THATS 10!!

I dont think we have had a player lay that many all year, if ever.

Daniel mate l slept very well last night  ;D
whats happening here  ;D its all gone quite the bashers lucked out again.
Strikes me that people constantly bash other clubs when our team is the worst run club in the AFL.
l seen clubs like Richmond before, they let anyone in to run the buisness & they get robbed of all the club money  ;D then cry poor till the coffers are up again then they get robbed again.
The real blood is on the hands of those who are running the club making the dreadful decisions.
Those who run it put more money into thier own pockets than into development of the club as its a pure money source for them
The players dont get the equipment or the development they need & the blame is pushed on the wrong people who should know better anyway & speak out.
Benny gale will sort the poo out & can gaurantee March will be gone by March  ;D

LOL TM. I don't bash every other club. Only the ones that get ahead of themselves and continually tell us all how great they are yet have done bugger all in terms of flags over the past 50 years ;). I don't compare them to us either. We all know how bad we are so hardly something for them to hang their hat on.

Anyway it was the battle of the finals chokers and the Crows choked the most. Btw here's a pretty funny clip from straight after the game - "Right in front of me":

I would like to see the Saints or Doggies win the flag this year. Even though their supporters like giving lip despite both clubs being so unsuccessful it would be great to see at least one of them break their long long drought.

Just for the record, I don't bash every other club either. I save all my vitriol up for the two clubs that I HATE the most: Collingwood and Carlton (and maybe,at a pinch, Sydney, with their "throw everybody and the kitchen sink behind the ball" game plan, which I believe is ruining the unique beauty of our sport.) I also don't compare us to other sides. That would be futile.Because at this point in time there is no comparison. Right now we stink. And there's no way of  avoiding or sugar-coating that fact, so to repeat it ad nauseum is not only stating the obvious, but its' also downright depressing. What's just as depressing is logging on here, and finding so-called Tiger supporters not only enjoying watching Collingwood win, but putting money on them to do so, praising them to the hilt, and crowing at Tiger supporters like me, who are sickened to the pit of their stomachs to witness scenes of Eddie, Mick, Joffa and the feral, toothless, bogan Magpie hordes celebrating a win.

Saints make the Grand Final thanks to four goals from Riewoldt in a low scoring game. Two in the last quarter. Dogs choke in front of goal in the last quarter like they did in 1997. Giansiracusa and Gilbee miss gettable goals in the last quarter whilst they led only for Riewoldt to kick 2 goals and get the Saints home.  :banghead

Its a sad day in football if Stephen Milne gets a premiership medallion. Plus they have won 1 flag in 112 seasons. Looking at how pathetic they have been makes me feel better. I hope the Cats beat the Pies and win again next week. :pray

true true Tucker re: Milne

what a tosser that bloke is.

Why cant Jack R turn into Nick R.

What a star. Wanted the Dogs to win tonight for Johnno.

IMO 2 of the best captains in the league played tonight

Yep two great captains Daniel. Personally I think Browny from Bris Vegas is the best on field captain. Demands to be looked in the eye and won't ever back away.
These are the type of characters we need to nurture at Richmond. Other than Mitchell last year where Crawf was the spiritual leader if you look at Captains of Premiership teams since 2000 they have been able to inspire their sides on the big day.

Hird 2000
Voss 2001-02-03
Tredrea 2004
Hall 2005
Cuz was clearly spiritual leader in 2006.
Harley in 07.

We have Cuz on our list now. Richo as spiritual leader. We need to find another on field leader in our side to inspire us and take us to the next level.  :thumbsup

Was hoping the dogs would snatch it for Johnno too.

In the end they didn't settle after they kicked their goal to hit the lead. Kept banging it in. All they needed was a mark or a free but they had no target.

Saints on the other hand I hope the Cats get through and pummel them. Their footy is ultra effective but its boring to watch. When you have Riewoldt in your team its too easy to put 15 men behind the ball and choke the game up then bang it to a 1-on-1 or 2-on-2.

The doggies had their chances but just couldn't take them. They need Jordie's matchwinning goalkicking  :lol.

Seriously though I thought the dogs had the better of the play for most of the night but couldn't score whereas the Saints were able to pinch goals when needed. A dodgy free to Riewoldt at the start of the last quarter didn't help the dogs but I guess it was there and unnecessary dumb play by the doggie defender.

Lenny Hayes was just amazing. Continually kept his feet and strength to clear the footy all night under immense pressure. He and Riewoldt got the Saints across the line just through sheer will and desperation. From a neutral it was one of the most intensive and toughest in-close games I've seen. It was almost like an old fashioned game from the 70s towards the end with players on both sides just totally stuffed.

Milne is a liability for the Saints btw if he plays like he did tonight next week. Selfish soft little twerp!

Tough.  Uncompromising.  Contests.

Was a bloody ripper.  :thumbsup  Of course the Saints were going to slow it down and eat up the clock in the last.  Both teams were dead on their feet from the first 3 quarters.

Would love to watch the Tigers play just one game like that.

Hope the Saints go on and win the Grand Final.  Really like their brand of football and disagree it's boring to watch.

Poor Doggie supporters are not surprisingly gutted. This loss will sting big time for a long time. The Bullies probably have only 2010 left in their window to chase that elusive flag. Barry Hall to the Western Oval? Hey even Lloyd would be a show if he 'retires' from Essendon. I know Griffen played very well last night but Buddy would've got them across the line. The media conveniently always forget the Doggies overlooked Franklin as well while bagging us.
