No mention of the 0 impact he had in the 2017 granny then.....

Bit harsh- he did kick that crucial late goal that kept the margin under 50 .... :shh

Yeah you’re right. Let’s also not forget the 7 disposal 1 point contribution in their 2018 loss either which to be fair was 6% of Brisbane’s total score.

Cameron is an ordinary player. Basically he has never performed in big games. He is just average and now he is looking for special treatment from the umps lol.

One of the great defensive efforts in a final particularly in first quarter when the tide was against us.

Absolute gun! Those 5 intercept marks in the first quarter kept us in it. Class act post-game too praising Cameron, especially after Cameron and Brisbane sooked about Grimesy for the whole fortnight leading into the game.

Solid as a rock.

Dylan Grimes has Charlie Cameron's measure

The Lions approached the AFL's umpiring department after the clubs' round 23 meeting to discuss some of Grimes' negating tactics on Cameron, but Grimes is simply outplaying the lethal small forward. The All Australian pair renewed acquaintances on Saturday night, with Grimes again leaving with the honours. Cameron, who has booted 54 goals this season and been pivotal to the Lions' sharp rise, managed just seven disposals and 1.2 and had little influence on the game. Grimes won crucial one-on-one battles, and also dragged in six marks as a key part of the defensive set-up. Cameron was given a free kick close to goal early in the game, but it was controversially reversed after Brisbane's Eric Hipwood lightly shoved Grimes, who fell to the ground and drew a poor decision from the umpires

Did Grimes take a dive?

Herald Sun
September 8, 2019

Dylan Grimes’ close checking on Charlie Cameron had been a hot topic in the lead up to tonight’s qualifying final between Brisbane and Richmond.

Cameron was left frustrated by the tactics Grimes employed in the Round 23 clash between the teams with the Lions seeking clarification from the umpiring department.

It didn’t take long for the Cameron-Grimes battle to heat up with the Lions goalsneak awarded a free kick after he was held without the ball.

Grimes was then bumped by Eric Hipwood and dropped to the ground, and the free kick was reversed.

Bulldogs great Luke Darcy said the umpire had overreacted after Grimes’ theatrical fall.

“Oh no. That’s an unbelievable call … Grimes has taken a dive for mine,” Darcy said on Channel 7.

Ex-Saint Leigh Montagna said the umpire had been taken for a ride by the Richmond star.

“That’s the umpire not handling the occasion – the umpire got sucked in there,” he said on Triple M.

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick staunchly defended Grimes and lashed those who had suggested that the flop was on.

“It’s funny isn’t it, because I look at the game in a lot of different ways, and I see guys shrugging their head and all that sort of stuff,” a frustrated Hardwick said.

“At what stage do we stop and just let them play the game? The game’s hard enough as it is. Pull their heads in, probably, a little bit, would be fair.”

Grimes had a laugh when showed the vision during a post-game interview on Channel 7.

“Oh no, I don’t know what to say about that. That’s an Academy Award,” Grimes said.

Fans on social media labelled Grimes’ act was not in the spirit of the game.

    Fine at the bare minimum.

Should be a suspension if the AFL were half serious.

Most blatant dive I’ve seen since Rance.#AFLLionsTigers

Dylan got $1000 for staging

The umpire should cop a $10,000 fine and getting dropped for the remainder of the finals for being a  :wallywink
