Was OK with a nice goal

Was just so relieved he didn't get snapped in 2

If Nahas is getting the ass then this guy has a spot.

He looks like he might have a few tricks.

thats what we said about Patty Payne(Nahas) last year when he was tackling and kicking goals.

ill wait till end of the year before i judge Hicks. Ok for first game.

Same height as the Flea I heard yesterday, we all know how that turned out. Hardwick is doing the right thing and giving as many as he can a taste, what have we got to loose in giving the kid a go.

What have we got to lose?
Our reputations when we right off players and they end up turning out ok!

i agree nothing to lose

Anything is worth a chance after we have given Patty Payne numerous opportunities to shine but has delivered very little

I thought he was good.  Unlocked a nice piece of play on our fifty under a lot of pressure, was clean with the ball.  Nice opportunistic goal, just the type we are looking for from that class of player.  He pounces like a lynx on the loose ball with his speed so I reckon a few senior games will do him a world of good and get him really crackin.  He looks hungry for it, give him a run just like the other debutants.

I like that each new player this season has been given a couple of weeks to get a feel and show what they can do.  I don't see any reason or need to change that thinking now, especially at this late end of the season.  If you all remember back to the Brisbane game, I mentioned that Danny Daly spoke then of the very high regard he was held in by the football department so I would be very surprised if he doesn't get at least 1 and more likely 2 more games this season.  If anything, Ben Nason might struggle to hold his spot - he is showing all the signs to me of a kid running out of legs in his first season.

i dont want to agree with smoke but I agree that Nason is just about running on empty now. as for smallish midget sized players - we have way to many atm and we need to cut a couple at the end of the season.

I was super impressed with Hicks when he used his pace in the 3rd and bolted towards goal on a fast break to give us a forward option. He was about 20m in the clear but uncharacteristically Webber's stuffed up the delivery. If we can crack some more fast transition turnovers, he will be more than valuable as a small forward when using his pace.
