Deledio needs to go to the next level this year: Robbo
« on: February 01, 2010, 02:03:12 PM »
Robbo just now on SEN on Lids :

Time for Brett to do more than people just hoping he does well and when they look at him he needs to do more than just look back. He needs to become the type of player who says to his teammates hey give me the ball and I'll do something with it. We've been a waiting a long time. He's a good to very good footballer but not a great one.

When a caller rang in saying Lids has won back-to-back B&Fs Robbo said he may have been harsh but he believes Deledio can be a Brownlow winner if he goes to that next level he believes Brett is capable of.

he won two B&F under Wallace! enough said!

under Jade, he played better in the second half because he was thinking of his contract!

When Cotchin becomes injury free and Martin starts to contribute we will see Lids become a much better player. One player cant do it on his own and lets be honest, weve been lite on for class in the midfield for a long while now.

And when all that happens watch Foley 'appear' to step up also!

found out that he isnt as good as rfc and its fas think he is
geelong didnt want him for a reason, he cant hit targets, sure he is a ball magnet but half his touches go straight to the opposition or no where , should have traded him whil ehe had a reasonable reputation

Are you sure it's half his touches?

I thought Geelong had these two blokes called Ablett and Bartel.

Nevertheless Foley is alot better than waht you say. Last year it was Lids case you were on this year its Foley on your radar. In Foley we have a player who has pace and can win his own ball. In the best case scenario where Axel Cotch and Martin are fit and firing I am sure all 3 players would benefit from this as would the team in terms of the workload and getting back to the topic this would make Lids an even better player also.

Lids was great in a woeful side last year but I feel that Foley was even better in a statistically more woeful side in 2007 and as much as I loved the big fella in the 12 jumper when he ran onto the haloed turf how he won the B&F in 2007 ahead of Axel to me is still a mystery.

I hope you eat it not for any other reason but as to see Foley excel.
I hope his injury heals quickly so he can give himself the best chance. One thing is for certain however with GC coming in next year if Foley does have a poor year by the standard he set in 2007 and for the first half of 2008 and the club is smart he will be used as trade bait for a hopeful early pick. That's the fine line he's treading.

at the end of the day i hope i eat humble pie too, cos i want rfc to succeed and justify his selection, but hardwick wont accept players that continually miss targets , foley skill level has never been his strong pont, finding the pill yes, disposing it properly no
