Its time for some cuts and some retirements
« on: April 18, 2010, 05:17:41 PM »
Simmonds should retire this week and a couple of blokes like McMahon should be paid out and let go. Thanks but its time for them to leave RFC and they arent the only ones.

Problem is this.
Vickery aint going to make.
Seems like a "'protected "" player due to his Dads involvement.
Interesting fact that during his TAC career, he averaged 6 possesions a game, shouldnt of been drafted in the first place :banghead :banghead.

He was HOPELESS today, remember Melbourne only played 1 ruckman ( Jamar), and had Dunne up against Vickery  ::)

We dont have a ruck division Jacko- We all know that but the coach is stranded by what Wallace left him. I am not writing of Vickery, hes a kid who needs a couple of years at least in the system. Maybe he wont make it anyway this thread is about Simmonds and afew other blokes. Richmond admin needs to make a couple of decisions this week IMHO.

Simmons tries hard, but his body doesnt let him play.
He at least got himself in good positions today, although the pace of the game kills him

Damien Hardwick said he was going to be ruthless if so he needs to

1) Retire Simmonds this week
2) Cut Tuck and McMahon from the list as neither will be at RFC next year IMHO.

Be ruthless- Good, the club and coach needs to show us how ruthless they can be.

Funny you mention Jamar, Jack.  Apparently he is taking all before him in hitouts to advantage this season and watching today's game I thought in this area he was very good - he gave his midfielders first use of the ball many many times and was one of the main reasons for the turnaround after half time when he got on top in the middle.  He has been in the system for 8 years now and guess how many disposals he averages?  Yep, 6 - 6.3 to be exact.  Plenty of time for Vickery and if he keeps improving like I have seen already this year then at worst he will be competitive.  I saw him asserting himself in the contest a number of times today and it looks to me like he is just starting to believe in himself - the single most important moment in the timeline of a kid learning the game.

Ruthless to Hardwick is suspending players when it was the clubs fault anyway :banghead.
ruthless means when a players makes a huge mistake, dragging him and pointing out the error, why would he sit on the bench if he doesnt do that.
Should of gragged Tambling on 3 occaasions today, but didnt.
watch Paul Roos coach,he does

Roos has been coaching for years and has won a flag Hardwick has coached 4 games. Youre not comparing apples to apples jacko. Hardwick will make plenty of mistakes on the journey but its 2 years away before any of us can say if he will make a coach or not IMHO.

Ok Jacko I take your point but If Roos was coaching Richmond- how would we be any different with the players weve got?. Weve got very little talent.

Sack Simmo & who's going to ruck? Gus? You have got to be kidding if he's our next ruckman. :rollin
Browne should be good but a long way off.
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

We havent got any ruck, doesnt matter who rucks now, were gonna get slaughtered in the ruck so we may as well retire Simmonds and cut afew from the list.

BIG DIFFERENCE.
we would have a structure where players would work for each other and isolate players accordingly.
Presently they have no idea where to play players, where is Post playing ? and when you work that out, please tell the kid. :banghead

Jacko-

Richmond players havent blocked, shepharded or done anything for a team mate for as long as I can remember. It was one the hallmarks of the Wallace era and the last couple of Frawleys. Our players have never spread properly from the contest at any stage over the last 7 years. Roos is a great coach, but you cant turn average players into silk. We just dont have enough talent.
