I'd prefer this news if it was Raines. I've got nothing against Patto. It was the right decision for us to delist him last year though.

Honestly, watched him play at the Northern Knights, and i was amazed when he was picked up by an AFL. ::)
Never ever could bend down to pick the ball up and was therefore hopeless below the knees.
The biggest joke was the saints then picking him up.
just goes to show what idiots are making decisions at AFL clubs ;)

He was highly on the Hawks radar before he came to the Tigers & they were still interested in him before he went to the Saints.
But its obvious his not upto it  :lol maybe he can apply for something down here haha

Patto was the proverbial in-betweener. Too slow off the mark to play forward yet had no real height or leap to be a ruckman. He may have been okay 10-20 years ago but the game has changed. In the end the typical Richmond "make-up" selection for not picking a KPP  earlier on in the 2004 draft. We did the same with Cleve when we took JON with our first pick in 2005. We paid the price for the same mistake in back-to-back drafts  :-\.

Not to mention trading for Kane Johnston and ending up with a down graded pick used to get schultz or trading for Polly. Good strategy miller!
Thank god for Jack!

agree with mightytiges. Also I believe he just didn't get enough of the ball. He would go missing in matches

We should recruit him, he is a (runner up) premiership ruckman!

You can't buy experience like that.
And you may not think I care for you

The new ruck rules brought in a year or two after Patto was drafted ruined any chance he had of playing in the ruck, which I imagine was the intention given he was never going to make it as a forward.

I didn't know they brought in a rule that required Ruckman to have a least 3 posessions per game.

I know you're "trying" to be funny, but getting his hands on the ball wasn't really Patto's problem

Patto averaged 11 possies, 7 hitouts over his 66 games and kicked just 16 over 6 seasons. That's why he's been delisted by two clubs. Neither made it as a ruckman nor forward.

what age is Patto now
24 years old. Turns 25 in March.
