Realistically (besides becoming a drug dealer for Cuz  :eyebrow, pimping himself out for Caro's pleasure  :cuddles :chuck or having the team watch the movie 2012 together - go saints :lol), what could he do?!

What could Hardwick do right now that would be the worst course of action for our future?

What could Hardwick do right now that would be the worst course of action for our future?
Finish mid-ladder with a first draft pick in the teens

Playing injured players trying to win

Overloading the workload of our cubs trying to win (we should instead give Martin, Cotch and co. another week off around round 18 or thereabouts.

Finish last to add another quality youngster plus the lowest 2nd, 3rd rounders to give us the best chance with our later picks.

Continue to play more cubs and trial them in different positions and match-up on opposition star players. 2010 is about education first and foremost.

I wouldn't mind Jack pushing up the ground at times to give Griffiths the forward line so he is the main tall target. It worked for Jack when he first started out when Richo played on the wing.

I am genuinely on the fence when it comes to tanking, but you make valid points here. The later round picks are probably where we are going to miss out most if we finish further up the ladder.

But confidence and belief that only comes from winning could really galvanise this side. This can create an environment in which any player that walks in gets the most out of themselves.

On the fence, but hopefully Adelaide and West Coast hit some form after the break and we can get the best of both words.

What could Hardwick do right now that would be the worst course of action for our future?

The worst thing he could do right now would be to move away from his strategic plan which is his blueprint for success.

What could Hardwick do right now that would be the best course of action for the clubs future?

This would be to continue pushing forward with his stateted purposes and objectives (his blueprint)

What could Hardwick do right now that would be the worst course of action for our future?

Take shortcuts by trading away our draft picks from the first 3 rounds

What could Hardwick do right now that would be the best course of action for the clubs future?

Trade away some of our mid-tier middle aged players for draft picks and use them to obtain more youth

This makes a hell of a lot of sense. This year is about preparing for the future whether you believe that is best achieved through the draft or onfield success. I'm of the mind that the later can actual harm the former but that's another thread...

That's the best case scenario cranny albeit it's something that's out of our control. Be nice to have sides above us win a couple of more games and we fall in just behind them enabling us room to win a few more games yet keep hold of that precious pick 4 and the lowest 2nd, 3rd rounders. You would hope that with the Crows and Eagles being interstate sides they'll pinch a couple more wins at home against fellow bottom 8 sides. Starting this weekend with Adelaide playing Melbourne. However I think the Eagles are already in "tank" mode with Glass ruled out for the season and Worsfold not playing the likes of Quentin Lynch up forward :-\. We need Worsfold to feel heat as coach from the Eagles' Board and him then needing to save himself by going all out to win.

Agree Infamy. Polo looking a likely candidate at this stage. We received another pick in the 40s for Raines so n reason that sort of trade couldn't be repeated. Maybe GC17 might offer something higher if they are desperate for mature bodies to protect all the kids they will draft this year.
