How on earth did mcguane have a shocker. There are some people who just don't like certain players and that means that player has already played crap before a ball has been bounced  8)

Perhaps it may have something to do with the fact that he refused to man up on his opponent as ball was coming in the Pies forward line.

Standing off your opponent by about 10-20 metres when the ball is up on the wing doesn't make a lot of sense when you consider the speed it which the Pies were bringing it into their F50. Made it bloody difficult to get back to make a contest. I lost count in the 2nd qtr of the number of times Luke did this.

I've been a big wrap fro Luke over the last 2 seasons but Saturday was not one of his finest games; not by a long long way

Surely you mean "opinion", not "fact"?

some ppl here are blnded

the tigers did not play man on man because they were instructed to play the zone game

this game was used as an educatiional game, same as v the cats

man on man we can play but we need to get better at the zone game, so thats why all our players were not accountable

if it happened all day its obvious they were instructed to

the result means nothing, they had to suffer this pain to learn and go forward

Interesting you bring up the UNCONTESTED possession stat Jack...

Just some numbers

Polo = 7 contested possessions & 13 uncontested possessions

Rance = 8 contested possiessions & 18 uncontested possessions

And the winner in the UNCONTESTED possession stakes for the Tigers on Saturday?

Ben Cousins with 19.... so it isn't necessarily about the UNCONTESTED possessions it's like all possessions it's about what you do with them  ;D

Actually to take it further

Cousins & Rance led the Tigers uncontested possies

Next were:

Tuck - 17
Morton - 16
Connors - 15

Problem we had is we we crap inthe CONTESTED possession stakes

Got pumped 99 to 142 - and that was very disappointing

bring up a point.
Not a good idea to get uncontested possesions in D 50
To get uncontested possesions through the corridor eg Cousins is okay, as he releases players to go inside F 50
Big difference

fact is the whole game was played inside their 50 and we were missing Moore and thursfield. Finger in dyke and he was overwhelmed. You honestly think Moore or Thursty wouldve reduced the margin if they played instead of mcguane?

Agree but in zone situation blokes are going to get cheap uncontested possies

Connors does it every week  ;D

I got to say WP I've been a Connors fan, but his general application on the weekend gave me a little to worry about. Poor defensive efforts and poor discipline... OK his fitness isn't great because he hasn't played many games of footy, but it still is a burden that the rest of the team have to carry.

On Connors, I sat on the fence last week, 20 metres from the interchange.
he seems overweight, and NOT FIT to me
He was blowing more than any other player, I was really surprised.

Yeah exactly jack.. halfway through the second and he had hands on hips blowing. Clearly needs to improve his tank. Needs a massive off-season.

You know that a bloke blowing hard could mean two things? He could be unfit, or he could be working very hard.
I'd be more concerned about any mid sized player coming off and not blowing hard.

Shows how much we missed Jackson and Cotchin.

Early in the season we were at least matching it with the opposition in contested possessions, but got smashed in the uncontested. When we were playing well the uncontested possessions was up there.
