I have really enjoyed the game....Dees just a little too good.

What a shame we are bleeding goals in junk time.

Cuz high ball and it just travels barely 15m but Hicks takes a gutsy mark. Misses as well.

In the scheme of things its a disappointing result but

1) they had more to play for than us- in effect there playing for finals and we are not
2) we were missing Cotchin, Foley, Griffiths (who adds structure) and lets say Tambling
3) they have classier players in general but
4) we have a better game plan and Hardwick is on the right track
5) we lost but our draft position will be good and we will get a real good player.
6) the Demons are not that much infront of us as they think they are
7) with a good draft we could go past Melbourne in a hurry under Hardwick.
8) we have lots of good triers but lets be honest, we need some more class.
9) we need a good draft and continued development

Outclassed in the end. They were just cleaner and far more systematic than we were. Our play forward of centre and inside 50 was poor. Too many long kicks in hope rather than spot ups and marks of the lead. Melbourne spent all day feeding off them and then slicing us up on the rebound. Their footskills  especially after quarter-time killed us. We just had too many possessions that didn't find a target forward of centre.

Jacko, Newy, Cuz, Morton and even Whitey were in our best today for mine. Disappointing games from Jack and Lids. We really missed Cotch's class in the midfield. Need to dip in the draft for more classier players.

The  result was disappointing ,however we matched it with a team thats at least 12 months further in its development. The one very disappointing thing for me today was watching connors butcher the ball because he was trying to be a smart alec

Who was on Dunn today????

Sick of these part time senior players like him damaging us because we show them no respect. Happens all too often.

Some no name dud always pops up and kicks a bag against us

Lids and Moore Daniel. He kicked a couple on Moore. I agree its always these hack types that kill us(see corey Jones, aaron edwards debut game, the list goes on).

On the game, good effort but got to use the ball better. A bit dissapointed in players like mcguane, connors, moore.

Yeah but this year was always going to turn out like it has. We all know that we need more class in the side and we need better footballers. And for all the positiveness of the season, people shouldnt forget that we are 15th on the ladder. That means we have alot of work to do as a club in the offseason.

Melbourne's success is on the back of an All Australian season by Brad Green (30), and enourmous improvement in Mark Jamar (27).

Our success this year is on the back of Jack Riewoldts improvement, Deledio's new role. Our future.

I'd rather be us then them. Ge Jurrah can play though.

keep telling urself that, these guys are in great form yes, but the scope to come from their young blokes is huge and is understated even this season. Melbourne had 9 or 10 first round draft picks not playing today. Everyone knows you have a better chance in unearthing a good player with early draft picks, they have positioned themselves beutifully andwil continue to unearth gems next seasons as they get more and more games into this bluechip talent

Did they play zone or man on man for most of the day?

Ooh my Pope you are living in la la land. You cant be serious?

The dees are well placed to play finals and win a flag within 3 years. If given as choice right now at the minute bias aside ill take their list any day of the week.

We havent seen anything of so many of the draft picks and Watts has shown only glimpses.

They are in the position they are in because they successfully managed their list resisting the temptation for cheap wins. They have built a very good list by bottoming out when the need arose.
